One more bike saved from the scrap pile. Was it worth the effort, I reckon it was. Polished it up nicely and restored to the best possible. Great little cheap Bike with decent components.

I agree with your comments on shifters. Many times they will free off with a squirt and a bit of operation.
I tend to service them off the bike, and I can't resist painting the indicator if it has faded in the sun, like many have.
Great build again. LX brakes are great.

Nice 👌 That LX group is one of the nicest they ever made . Pound for pound building an older bike like this you end up with something so much better than spending the same amount on a new bike, if that makes sense 😊

Another great build there mate, been catching up with all your builds over Xmas.
The gold label hubs were suspension specific and had weird looking cones which are longer and extend out to fit in the dropout, xt had an aluminium spindle.
Looking forward to the next..

it came out really nice! (....your bikes always do...). Your lad will really enjoy riding it!
Maybe you can expand a bit on the gold label on the front hub. I've overhauled a lot of LX and XT hubs and have never noticed a difference. I've often wondered why the gold labels ...so.... I'm keen to learn something new.... 😉 )
