Found Bike gets repaired, ridden, and cashed in

I found a bike in the woods a couple of weeks ago, and it seems to have been there for quite some time. This is a section of Pisgah National Forest where you are very unlikely to find litter—this is not some city park. If this bike was left in an emergency, the owner certainly didn’t make it look so, and nobody has come back to get it.

I considered the circumstances briefly; maybe someone was hurt and left the bike? Maybe there was a crash and someone was rescued? None of these scenarios explain how the bike was thrown so far off trail with no destruction path. This was clearly a rage quit.

So today we’re going to clean the forest, have some fun, and hopefully get paid for it.

I had an all steel version of that bike when I was a teenager, and I rode the hell out of it for years until I got too tall for it. Learned how to maintain it and adjust the derailleurs, and I absolutely loved it. You're absolutely right, this is a case of neglect, pure and simple.

This man just found a bike in a trail. He picked it up, he sold it for 3.06 dollars and he bought tacos with it. *STONKS* 📈

Guy crashes bike with plan to retrieve it later. Another guy comes along, finds the bike, and turns it into a taco fart.

You definitely could have gotten $25-$50 on let go. Or you could have used it as bait for bike thieves.

I don’t always throw bikes, but when I do, I prefer to apologize to the bike and ride it again.

I am a furniture repair Technician. I have a scrap pile of bent recliner mechanisms and seat springs. Almost anything that is scrap metal goes in the pile. I even have a bucket that I through the staples I remove to replace upholstery parts or snapped wood screws stripped bolts and small things. My advice would be to keep save up until you have a nice pile and cash in your scrap. I make about $300 a year on scrap metal.

What did we learn? That monetary compensation for doing what is right is not always equal to the effort put in. But the tacos are totally worth it.

I've seen almost all of Seth's videos but somehow have only now watched this one. For reasons I cannot explain I think this one is my favorite. Maybe because it's the first time I've seen Seth chuck a bike like that :D
