The fact that first Mushroom Gorge and now this are keeping their shortcuts makes me feel a lot better about how the next Mario Kart game will turn out. We probably won’t be getting anything as insane as a Mario Kart Maker, but the way they’re acknowledging the past gives me a lot of hope.

I feel like the developers knew about the shortcut so they purposefully didn’t make the gaps Lakitu areas. Whether or not this is true, the fact that the shortcut is still possible in MK8DX after all these years is very cool.

When I played this, I naturally went for the double cut...and the first thing I thought was, "Hoo boy, Troy will love this"

there is a slight catch, if you fall in the hole Lakitu won't grab you until you're near the bottom

Nintendo is definitely using the DLC as a bit of fan service, and they are doing an incredible job of it

The issue with DK Summit is when you fall, you fall for AGES until Lakitu picks you up

was one of the first things i tried with it and it's totally possible shroomless, really loving the half pipes too, feel just as good as they were in wii down to even being able to skip parts of the track by doing it

Really surprised honestly, I do like that they are giving mk8 some more cool shortcuts which were very much lacking in the original game and mk8 dlc. It shows that they have changed their minds a bit which is wonderful!
