Maybe I'm stupid but what's to stop a thief from removing the battery from the bottom to disable the camera? Or if he has the special screwdriver 🪛 to open it when he approaches your house??

Lol... I didn't think this video was going to be useful to me since I've recharged my battery many times, but I actually learned something new! I thought the "grooves" on the sides of the faceplate were pressure points to release the faceplate to get it to slide off. It looks like those are just vents for air circulation!

I wish I had seen this video before I shattered one faceplate from squeezing the sides too hard.

I find it incredible that the battery is not charged through the AC power from the doorbell transformer. There's no mention of this being designed in, and instead it's apparently expected that the battery needs to be removed for external charging.
Considering the accessory solar charger is done through the same AC input terminals, there should be a means of using the unlimited AC power already there at the unit.
If the solar charging accessory simply provides DC power for charging, this is easily done with rectification and boost conversion if needed.

Hey Brandon, I made this for Christmas. Thank you so much for helping me doctor my gumbo! I like adding celery onions and bell pepper.Also adding the broth. I cooked chicken wings, shrimp and sausage I used slap your mama for some spice and creole seasoning. I used some gumbo file too, to thicken it!! Ring, is it correct, for Ring Doorbell 2 .. while charging, there is a solid green and solid amber LED lights, and when fully charged, only a solid green LED light on battery? And takes 5-10 hours to fully charge?

I have the first Ring and the battery on it has become horrible. It requires charging every week. I am guessing I need to purchase a new Ring doorbell since the battery is built in. I would like to get a Ring 2 so I can just buy a new battery if this happens again. Do you know if the ring two has the same footprint as the ring? I would like to avoid installing a whole new plate if possible.

The screwdriver my doorbell came with does not have a star-shaped side, just the typical plus and minus. And the star-shaped screwdriver I *do* have does not fit into the hole because of the random knob in the middle.

My battery has been charging overnight. When I woke up both lights were off, so I unplugged the charger and plugged it back in. When I did this, both the orange and green light turned on again. I’m not sure why it still isn’t charged since it was charging all night. I would think 8+ hours would be enough to get it charged. Is there something wrong with my battery?
