If you want to grow your Twitch stream, it is important to be critical. Being critical isn’t a bad thing, people say, “Oh don’t be so critical of yourself!”.

But there are a lot of things you can control and improve, such as your visuals, audio, and most importantly your content that you’re creating. Watch back your VoD and be honest with yourself, is it up to scratch. Does your mic sound good? Are you engaging? Is it easy to watch and enjoy or is there something that is off-putting? Be honest, push yourself to grow, and become a better entertainer!

Because at the end of the day, the only way you are going to grow your stream is by growing yourself and being critical in a positive way.

Speaking of positivity, this is another crucial one. I sometimes still struggle to keep things positive but it is so important to be confident and positive on stream which takes practice but can really go a long way.

If you are down, people are down, if you are hyped, people are hyped.

The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

Something happened to a streamer I was watching that I will never forget. A troll came in chat and said “ha ha you only have 10 viewers.” He said, “hey man I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but I honestly love it. If I imagined that I have 10 people in my room right now behind me watching me play this game, it would be amazing. I love my friends and I love my community and if you want to be part of it, you’re more than welcome”.
10 viewers might not sound like a lot, but I always learn to imagine them with you. That’s a lot of people! I hope this helps someone.

lol "talk to yourself". This is actually why I started streaming a week ago. I realized my conversations with myself could be really entertaining.

There’s something so great about having a random viewer come in and interact with the stream. I can still remember when someone found my page from the Browse section and just started chatting with everyone. Makes me smile to this day

"Are you really proud of what you're creating?" That one really hits.

Or just do what I do: have other people in a voice call that you can talk with, because even if you run out of things to say, someone else will have something to talk about

For everyone just starting out and having a low viewer count (just like me): don't give up! Eventually, more people will start to find you and like your content! Just keep at it and have fun! :D

"Stream as if you're streaming to the best audience ever" that really hits, I might just add, if they're watching you, they already are the best audience ever for you.

i have diagnosed GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) along with MDD (Major Depressive Disorder). I've always wanted to try out streaming and making youtube videos, but everytime i do i get anxiety and back out. This helped me find tips on how to be more confident not only while streaming but also while just talking to usual friends. thank you! <3

For an introvert like me it helps to stream with someone instead of streaming alone. My husband is a gamer too so we just stream together mostly and when it gets silent I'd just start a light conversation with him.

I've always known that i am an introvert person but i never grasp how much i am until i decided to stream, i'm not afraid of failing but afraid of succeeding and even if it doesn't work out for me, at least i know i have the courage to express myself

Just wanted to say that I'm not even finished watching the video yet and I already feel so uplifted and motivated by your outlook and honesty. This is an amazing video for a beginning streamer. I'm so glad I found it. Thank you!

The whole 'talking to yourself' thing while doing Let's Plays *definitely* helped me when I started streaming. Looking at my first Let's Play, yeah, I talked differently, or not at all, because it's something that you have to get used to doing. My first streams? Basically like my doing a let's play, only I didn't have the chance to hit the stop record button and start again with my intro. Basically a 'one taker' with all the mistakes in it. But that's also kind of a fun way to play a game and show it to others.

for the most part i always had 0 viewers, still do sometimes depending on the day, what time i stream and what game it is, but anytime i get a viewer i immediately try to interact with them because those are the types of streamers i like, and it always ended up being a fun time!
