This is too common. Americans if they have their generic American are convinced they don’t have an accent and anything that differs is an accent.

Everyone has an accent, people who come from other states or countries can usually hear the differences, not the person themselves.

Ll of us have accent but we don't realize about how we talk. If you record your voice and compare with another one in the same language but from a person of another country, them you hear the accent.

Everyone has an accent. It annoys me how some Americans use 'foreign' country with the obvious connotation of it being 'less than'. The same goes for any accent which isn't American

Is Spain people die to have a British accent but unfortunately they are very bad at it so at the end they just sound ridiculous. Plus they have this silly notion that the letter U is pronounced as an A in every word and thus we have to deal with a Tapper, Batton, Barton, Tramp and so forth. (Tupper, button, Burton, Trump).Go figure.

This is hilarious.
It is an unfortunate by product of big government or centralized federal government culture which has tried to erase the existing, unique cultural differences throughout the United States in an effort to create convenient voting blocks, just to make things easier for the marketing department of the uni-party.
No matter who we are, we have a distinct accent, and if you don’t believe that you do, you just haven’t been given the right framework to see it.
