This reminds me of ‘Bubble Boy’ where the mother deceives the boy into thinking he had no immunity and chance of surviving out in the real world. But when he finds a girl who he falls in love with he has no choice but to explore the outside world eventually ends up with him finding out his own identity was a lie. Some can say his mother was only being overprotective to hide him from the danger of however no child should go through torment especially taking away your freedom and rights as a human. I am glad there was a happy ending in both movies :)
