Spencer briskly traces the 1,400-year war of Islamic jihadis against the rest of the world, detailing the jihad against Europe, including the 700-year struggle to conquer Constantinople; the jihad in Spain, where non-Muslims fought for another 700 years to get the jihadi invaders out of the country; and the jihad against India, where Muslim warriors and conquerors wrought unparalleled and unfathomable devastation in the name of their religion.

Told in great part in the words of contemporary chroniclers themselves, both Muslim and non-Muslim, The History of Jihad shows that jihad warfare has been a constant of Islam from its very beginnings, and present-day jihad terrorism proceeds along exactly the same ideological and theological foundations as did the great Islamic warrior states and jihad commanders of the past.

About the Speaker:

ROBERT SPENCER is the director of Jihad Watch and a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center. Then I analysed Islamic behaviour in history as well as in present times. It made me realise how Islamism is the biggest threat to Human Civilisation

All of Europe and the US needs to listen to this man! He is absolutely right. People are ignorant of what Islam really is. I was persecuted for 3 years in Vienna, Austria for simply being American and Roman Catholic. I was mugged on the street, threatened to be killed, although I tutored Islamic children for free, and gave clothes and food to needy people.

I have a friend who's an Egyptian Christian. He tells me to this day when his Muslim countrymen hear his name, they would know he's a Christian and would deny him employment he would otherwise be granted. As far as American politics goes, I consider myself left-leaning but I acknowledge the threat you're describing. My Egyptian Christian friend on the other hand, has a defensive posture towards Israel. Perhaps, this is more nationalistic but it had gotten my attention.
