Imagine being through the entirety of all these battles and still surviving

I love the fact that you have now done a "Mr Incredible becoming uncanny" reference, which suggests that this must be a very good meme worth remembering in our history.

The last one is actually real, during the battle of Stalingrad, the Russians were playing on megaphones sounds of the clock ticking with funeral music and during that there was a voice saying "every 7 seconds a german solider dies, Stalingrad, mass grave"

“Wow grandpa! All these wars and you survived?”
“Yep”
“Awsome! By the way, what were you in the war? A sniper? A tank driver?”
“The camera man”

0:50 translation: every 7 seconds in Stalingrad german soldier dies.
Soviets used play this by radio inbetween of popular german songs and radio shows. They listened it over and over being unable to escape. They was surrounded while trying to storm the city.

fun fact: the average life expectancy in stalingrad was from 10 to 15 minutes, it lasted 200+ days. leningrad was under siege for almost a thousand days and the average life expectancy there was 2 days

At 0:49 for those wondering what the radio is saying here it’s “Every 7 seconds a German solider dies at the front, Stalingrad is a massive grave” Soviet radio stations played this on repeat the radios in Stalingrad to interfere with German radios and use it as a psychological tactic

It always amazes me how Germany started off so great (militarily) in WWII, and just completely fell apart in the third act.

We need a 10 hours version of the last one just to completely feel hopelessness and horror of the Battle of Stalingrad

Technically, Battle of Berlin is more depressing than Stalingrad.

Because most soldiers who fought in the battle of Berlin are civilian, mostly kids and old people, forcibly recruited as Volkstrumm because Germany already lack of professional soldiers from wehrmach and SS, most of them are either dead, wounded, or surrender to the allied forces.

0:21 that scream perfectly illustrates the feeling german soldiers had during overlord. Having to defend 20 km of beach with just 20 men against divisions of 20000 . insurmontable desperation

Fun fact: Germany leveled Warsaw during the Warsaw uprising, leaving only 15% of the original city.

Nobody talks about the soldier portrayed during the Warsaw Uprising.
The way he looks right into your eyes… It’s petrifying.

The Warsaw uprising one is terrifying because you know exactly what he's doing and why he earned that face...

Fun fact: more germans died in stalingrad campaign than the germans died fighting on the western front.

Good attention to detail on the Warsaw Uprising one. Really captured that typical SS *"monster in human skin"* look.

0:38 "It's not a war crime. It's called Systematic suppression of possible civilian security threats." - A random SS commander probably.

One really unknown but also really horrific battle for the Germans was infact the battle of Crete, it was the first paratrooper invasion in the world but the locals with help of Australian and British forces would kill german troops with farming equipment
