Great series!
My personal favorite for learning Linux is a simple Raspberry Pi. It's cheap, local, and easy to recover from bad decisions.

Hi Jay, your videos are great. I have a question, and I cannot figure it out. I think linux is awesome compared to windows. I installed virtualbox on my host system linux mint on thinkpad t420. I installed a new ssd and moved my hdd to a caddy in the cd-rom. I enjoy using virtualbox trying out different distros. Getting back to the question. I wanted to run virtualbox only from the hdd drive, not my host system the ssd. How to set up the path to run from the second drive only. I find its learning curve coming from windows. I wished I could of start with linux in the beginning. Can you please help, thanks Dean.

I think another option is to use WSL for Windows users

If Ubuntu is in a virtual box VM on a windows host, I’ve read that the encryption is almost worthless because anyone that gets control of the unencrypted windows system can access the VM Linux encryption keys easily?
But what about if just the home folder is encrypted, does that provide the same security as if you had an unencrypted Linux drive but with just the home folder encrypted? Or do we have to assume Windows or any apps on the windows host could be sending all your keystrokes etc via its/their telemetry?

I haven't used Vbox in a while. I take it that I'm now able to complete the installation, without first having to remove the virtual disc?

Did they fix the full screen issue with virtualbox 6?

This is great. But sadly I have a 2GB of ram on my system. It is un-upgradable. Running a virtualbox machine will just super slowdown my system. But on the brighter side I have Linux Manjaro as my Os, I hope that's ok?
