Hey man this was a good video but I do have a question that I like clarification on: since AI tasks have traditionally been done on a GPU what is the benefit of having a npu as opposed to an Intel PC with a powerful gpu?

From my understanding any app you can use in intel and amd you can install in the snapdragon there is no issues with app capability anymore that was only wuth the Suface pro X

Remember, even this new and improved version of Windows on ARM, for all its bells and whistles, will still be contaminated with 1990’s era legacy interfaces and apps. Make no mistake — Windows will remain a filthy OS for many years to come.

Thank you for the excellent explanation. This is my first time on your channel, I joined and liked. Your explanations are very understandable. I like seeing Microsoft Windows take advantage of the ARM operating system in what appears to be well executed. This would allow Windows as an operating system to have a broader form factor application, from hand held devices to desktop.

That said, I am waiting for Intel and AMD to announce their offerings in 3Q24. I hope they meet the battery life targets and AI requirements. Today for me I prefer x86 for compatibility of hardware and software on my laptop and desktop devices. Time will tell if ARM can meet that requirement well enough for my use case.

What are your thoughts on Intel and AMD with Copilot +PC?

The question is, would we be able to use all the recall and copilot+pcs feature using X86 chips? To be honest, I'm only interested in the real time copilot feature they showcased when playing Minecraft cause I find it very useful in certain situations...

Microsoft focusing and switching to ARM sound great for running windows on MacBooks 😄. Hope we get to see Microsoft flight simulator released for ARM natively, so I can finally ditch my extra windows PC I have just for that.

Well, just installed Ubuntu 24.04 after seeing the new "evolutionary" feature Recall. My Window partition did not survived, I guess it is fine :D

Hi, thanks for a great video. Do you think that the surface laptop studio 2 will get access the copilot + features soon? It has an NPU (not powerful at all compared to the snapdragon ones) and a 4050, so it should be able to run these features even if it has a greater power consumption. I appreciate any advice you could give about this, thanks!
