Aeroblast is still to this day the most epic looking move to me

Remember the days when you can get both legendaries without having to buy two games

Move relearning did exist. It was just very tedious, as you needed to beat the Elite 4 in Pokemon Stadium with pokemon from that cartridge.

You'd think they would make a custom moveset for the legendaries that would always have their signature, regardless of level.

I remember being so pissed when Lugia didn't have Aeroblast when playing Crystal back in the day.

Aeroblast’s gen 2 animation is still my favorite move animation of any pkmn game. It goes hard

There is a move relearner if you link with stadium 2 and beat the elite 4 but only with the team of Pokémon you used. I wonder if that would work cause it is a bit limited 🤔

The silver wing wasnt needed to enter the whirl islands depths, you needed it to make lugia appear

Pokemon TCG battle music is an absolute banger

The move relearner was introduced in Stadium 2

Also lugia is off course way harder by the fact you're required to have 3 DIFFERENT HMS just to reach em.
So good luck to keep him down with a parasect if it knows aeroblast

Honestly, for GS, this makes sense. You’re effectively getting a diet edition of the other version’s legendary, meaning that while, yes, you can have both, only one will have its true potential unlocked.

I don’t know what they were smoking in Crystal, though.

Both learned their signature moves at Lv.1, then every move at intervals of 11. At 40, they were four levels away from their 5th learnable move.

This is mostly true. Pokemon Stadium 2 had a move relearner and it was the inky way to teach them their forgotten move in that generation.

I can confirm, with Stadium 2 it well let you relearn lost moves like that. In my old Gold cartridge, I had my Lugia decked out with Aeroblast!

I was using Pokémon stadium to reteach moves that I thought were bad a mere 6 months earlier xD

Even though I knew about stadium 2, I didn’t even realize my 2 legendaries don’t have their signature moves (playing crystal) so I may have to go and fix that 😆

Not only that if you accidentally knocked out 1 of your roaming beasts you couldn't get ho-oh in crystal.

That's why Pokemon Stadium 2 existed. There was a move relearner that you got access to if you were lucky when you beat the elite four... At least I think it was the elite four. Been way too long.

The move relearner existed in the form of Pokémon Stadium 2. So the moves are not lost for the higher leveled legendaries
