Months after losing contact with the Opportunity Mars rover, NASA officials brought its mission to an end. But Opportunity lived up to its name. Tony Dokoupil reports.

This may sound silly to most, but I was attached to Opportunity and enjoyed stills and videos from Mars. But this is the second time I've lost an "Opportunity". I was born and raised in the little town just east of Spokane Washington. When I was born in 1951 our house at 11822 E. 6th. between Pines st. and Bowdish ave. was surrounded by truck farms that were still irrigated by in-ground weirs. you can Google earth and still see our 500 square foot house. The area is now Spokane Valley WA., and with the folks gone, no reason to go
