This is the "Shock & Awe" reaction of someone getting hit for the first time in their life. You're stunned, you can't believe it and don't know what to do--it's a perfectly natural reaction...

... For a first-timer.

These are the normal person can do, signing their life off, but some others have no morals at all.
Totally agrees on xu Xiao dong attitude.
Atleast XU is not brought up or raised up by some cowards.

typical straw man fight. This guy a tai chi master? No Way. His stance, energy, moving all wrong. Stop showing idiots who claim to be tai chi masters in fights. No one learns anything.

First of all, most martial arts are mixed. People these days are so cocky about what they THINK they know about martial arts.

This Tai Chi "grandmaster" is a practitioner of Gong Fu as is the MMA artist although he may or may not understand that. Gong fu (or Kung Fu) is the art of perfecting oneself. It's a Daoist concept, it's part of what we Daoists call "Internal Achemy" or "Neidan". The art of cultivating oneself.

It doesn't matter if a Gong Fu master ever fights. A Gong fu master can be a master at serving tea, at washing cars, it's the art of perfecting.

As for fighting, obviously there's some Daoist theory that has this practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan doesn't fully know how to manifest into his external style. Tai Chi is an "internal art" but I truly believe there's a truly cultivated Daoist Tai Chi Chuan practitioner who would make quick work of a top mixed martial artist. It would be like striking a sheet in the wind but when the master struck, it would be like being struck with a sledgehammer.

I cultivate myself daily, but I hope to never again fight anyone for any reason. If I ever do to defend myself or my family, at this point, my art is quite mixed (resembling Jeet Kun Do), but I only practice to cultivate.
