This is one of Lennon's underrated tunes.  It always amazes me that Lennon did not like the sound of his voice.  He was a tremendous singer.

You gotta love when John lets out that scream!

George Harrison and Tom Petty were driving along the M1 in England... going to a studio to record with the Travelling Willburys... and this song came on the radio.
George casually said, "I wrote that intro".  Apparently Petty just about lost it with laughter.
How cool is that !

Just listen to the vocals. So amazing. Vocal monitors WERE NOT INVENTED YET! They were just that amazing, as a group, musicians, songwriters, and singers! The Beatles. Never before, and never again.

This is a great example of what made the Beatles. John's vocals and rhythm guitar at their best, and the edgy harmonies from McCartney and Harrison completed the band's unmistakable sound. Those were the days...

I still get goosebumps at the opening chords of this.

John's singing voice epitomises all of his masculinity, charisma, sex appeal and power - his voice is pure, undiluted LENNON.

John Lennon had one of the greatest singing voices of all time

I love this so much.... I just always wished that cameraman would have let us see Lennon play that solo!!!

They played their own instruments, wrote their own songs, sung and harmonized them too. They all sang...yes...even Ringo. That in itself gave them a very special advantage over other groups like 'Rolling Stone' (I like them too) who only Mick Jagger sang. Eventually one voice begins to bore unless you are Elvis. Modern songs and music lack feeling and melody. They are for the most synthetic, all electronic. Every generation had their preference for music but 'The Beatles' were in a different category all together.

Some people accuse Paul of being a a "Ham" getting all the attention When in fact is,  it was John who told Paul ."YOU do the silly bullshit "  I have never seen any video of The Beatles were Paul is not 150%  into the performance . Even when is not singing he's mouthing the words and looking at both John & George like saying "THIS is GOOD lads .. WE ARE GOOD" The chemistry was so god damn perfect they ALL had a a VERY unique personality and when you put those personalities together the PERFECT personality came through!. I love watching John screaming at the audience because they would not let Paul speak "SHUT UP, LET HIM TALKKKK..." aoga-nara-tahtah...klabuut (John disguised "You stupid motherfuckers" one thing NO ONE can deny, look back at ALL groups from the era, and who had more fun that The Fab Four ? Like Ringo says "Only 4 people know what it was like and we ONLY trusted each other.
There was a LOT of love among them, and YOU can see it on every performance.

Another great song that really rocks.  Great guitar riff through it.  Lennon admitted he was a "Jealous guy" and this is a nod to that.  Love the line "Everybody's green...cause I'm the one who won your love...But if they seen you talkin' that way, they'd laugh in my face."  Too good a lyric.  What great harmonies.

In the universe of music, there are The Beatles... and then, there's everyone else.

Maybe one of their most underrated tracks - Lennon hard and aggressive vocal is just amazing

I love watching John sing and the way his face changes when he hits different notes. So lovely!

Here is what is AMAZING about them. No monitors. See any monitors on the stage? Ever? Nope. Walls of screaming fans. Listen to the vocals. On key. Harmonies spot on. No auto-tune. No magic. Just TALENT. So good they could nail their vocals without even HEARING themselves.

Lennon's lead (on his '59 Ric Capri) never fails to curdle me! That chirping crispness is truly thrilling - pure rock & roll!!
