What is AMP grazing? Part 1 #cattle #grazing

We’ve had tons of folks ask what separates AMP grazing from other systems like rotational and conventional grazing. The big difference? Adaptability!

AMP grazing relies on deep, consistent observation and adjustment to achieve the results farm families deserve and our soils need.

Whenever you drift into a prescribed set of actions, or permanent fencing that enforces the same rotation every year, you’re missing out on the huge benefits working with nature can provide!

Want to hear more? The resources at @SoilHealthAcademy are a great way to learn how to adapt to your environment!

So happy with this. Regenerative farming.
Thank you to our farmers.

Stop looking at yourself as raising cattle.
You need to be raising the soil.
The soil will raise the cattle.

Hi, i am a real person that does this with over 3000 sheep in a simi arid area in Canada. It works pretty good, the guy speaking is mostly right, its good practice.

For wild herbivores, it's native predators like wolves and cougar that protect new growth and deter overgrazing by "herding" those animals around. They cannot safely stay in one place long enough to overgraze it. With domestic cattle, it must be our job. Nowhere in the wild, except where the ecosystem is severely disrupted due to the removal of native predators, does any piece of land have herbivores grazing it daily. That's why the entirety of the UK, having rid themselves of all large native predators, looks like an overgrazed cattle field.

I have seen videos of people using drones to move cattle. I wonder if they could be used to limit the movement of the herd for AMP grazing. That would be useful in terrain where electric fencing is impractical.

When people get prescriptive, like when they take too much in one grazing, it can really hurt their soil health progress.

My concern is that the “government” will make a law that states land that is not traditionally farmed/ranched, as “unworked land” and can be taken away from the owners.
