Great job with the thumbnails recently. Hope it gets you more subs. People need this channel. Goldmine for fitness knowledge.

Most people arent meant to be sub 10% bodyfat and able to bench 315.... im still going to try though. Thats the point. Its not supposed to come naturally.

Very nuanced yet straightforward approach. Homogenising every aspect of the human body is ridiculous: there are qualitative differences between the different sub-systems of the entire organism. I personally SPAMMED split squats as a main movement for over a year and that was the only thing that helped me overcome my recurring (left) hip pain when squatting bilaterally. I'm assuming this was the result of strengthening the glutes individually but I don't actually know this, it's an assumption.

I like the way you think. It's commonly said to hit unilateral movements, I don't think this is bad advice. I think focusing on imbalances past a certain point is probably a misguided path. Unilateral likely is beneficial for the different stimulus.

Yeah I agree it's all in context. I live with a dislocated AC joint. Surgery would likely only make things worse. While I can work around it quite a lot and sorta proves the point that symmertry can be very overrated, it does in my case present problems.

So where possible symmetry is preferable but no need to obsess in many cases. It just depends.

I've worked with enough runner's that have had acl injuries to know that hamstring weakness absolutely correlates. Also, what I've seen is that many people are slightly weaker on their right leg compared to the left. I don't know why but I'm guessing because we all drive so much and holding tension on the right leg while driving makes it weaker.

TRAINING is mandatory. This is my belief.

Hip flexor/extensor asymmetry would be present in anterior pelvic tilt. I don't believe the solution is to develop strength though.

Any protocol for rehabbing elbow? I have have a bit of pain on the outside of my left elbow (probably tennis elbow) for months now. I heard it can be because of a weakness in the mid/lower trap area (I also have some kind of stiffness there, so could be the cause). My doctors appointment is in 3months tho and I don’t want to wait 😢
We arm grip is also a lot weaker than right arm. Back stiffness is also on the left side of my body (right at/below scapula)

It's a bit daft to say that muscle asymmertries between legs is associated with lower limb injuries. Of course it is, it basically only occurs in the presence of lower limb injuries, often causally lmao.

for a future QnA or mayb it's own video if you have alot to say about this but: Are you more on the strength or technique side when it comes to the Oly lifts? I see alot of coaches saying being maximally strong is better than maximally technical and vice versa. obviously you need both but where do you lean and why?

how would you address differences in external/internal rotation between the right and left shoulder? PT's usually just use these light band rotator cuff exercises as you mentioned in the video but are there better or heavy loaded options?

good info as always Will, had a question - at one point do you think you should start using straps for deadlifts? recently just started doing them and it's 100% my grip failing on a set of RDLs but I'm not sure if I should just build it up over time instead of defaulting to some straps

As a chiropractor, I approve this message. Many Chiros and PT’s are known for hyper focusing on perfect symmetry on benign parts of the body. This was a great breakdown. Some of the evidence based community also throws the baby out with the bath water and tell people to not worry about any asymmetries without any critical thinking or clinical correlation to their case. Just my experience.
