If you do the impression first and then cut the cookie it won’t get distorted. Also if the dough is nice and chilled it’ll hold its shape better. Also I’ve learned on the software if you use the rotate tool it rotates more accurate. Can’t wait to see more Alta videos.

to get the dough to release - spray the cutter with Pam and dip it in flour before cutting chilled or frozen dough.

Hi, is ABS filament okay to use if I don't intend to use this for food? I was to make cutters, but for earrings.

I'm not a fan of ppl showing themselves to explain how to do something. But it helps you have a sense of humour and can laugh at yourself. Was really interested in the cutter so thanks so much for the help!!

PLA and ABS filaments are NOT food safe plastics. You can buy Polypropylene filament that is food safe, but none of them are dishwasher safe. Cleaning them by hand cannot guarantee a sterile cutter due to the layer line ridges.

This technique is great for playdough, but I would be cautious with consumables.
