My vegetarian friend use to cook provolone like this. He said that bacon was the one thing that he missed from his carnivore days and he was always tempted by it. The crisped provolone tasted like bacon to him and if he could get a smoked provolone he said it was even better.

I remember years ago when my sister didn’t know how to cook that well, she once made these when my parents were away taking my grandma to the airport. We were both little kids (she’s 5 years older than me) and she made these since she didn’t know how to make much. I was crying a lot because it was my first time being home alone with my sister and that’s why why made the cheese leather. She offered me an omelette but I am a very picky eater so I refused politely and chose cheese. She called them ‘cheese crackers’ and I would beg her to make them because they were yummy. We watched Hilda and just ate. It was very memorable and this just brings me back to it.
