NASA Explorers: Permafrost

This week, #NASAExplorers head back in time…by going underground. In the Arctic, a frozen layer of soil – permafrost – trapped dead plants and animals for thousands of years. As the climate warms, that soil is beginning to thaw, releasing carbon dioxide and methane.

The Earth is warming up, it's a cycle.
Circle.
Can't stop it.

1. Scientists did a peer-reviewed paper showing the melting of the permafrost would need +10 Deg C. That isn't happening.

2. Three times 500 PPM CO2 would mean we would have 1500 PPM CO WHEN it's all released. Still far short of optimum levels for a healthy planet which is around 3000 PPM CO2 assuming all gases rise proportionally. Optimum is a balance between what plants thrive on vs what mammals can tolerate (8000 - 9000 ppm CO2 is maximum what mammals can tolerate. Tested by the US navy for Submarine use.)

I'd go on a mission into the unknown space if NASA has the courage to allow a man to venture into the unknown. Just send me off and I'll give man more data than you could ever dream. I'd spend the rest of my life in space if I had too.

That CO2 is locked in the ice because its heavier then air, even if the permafrost melted it would still stay close to the ground. Our atmosphere is one huge air distillation column light gasses go up heavy gasses like CO2 and Carbon Monoxide go down.

🤔💭 though time is short 🤷‍♂️ I say patience
An even exhaust ways to utilize and, do what we can with what we have.
