That's the best reason I've heard for early embarkation ... you paid for it, you might as well start enjoying it!
I would imagine the same applies to late disembarkation !!

I am an early boarder; I am blessed enough to have loyalty with NCL and RCL- so early boarding, a sit down lunch and a mimosa starts every cruise. And since I travel a bit, I found it cheaper to buy a yearly travel insurance plan rather than individual ones for each trip. That way I am covered by plane, train, bus, car, cruise....

I'm always early to get on. Even when some ships have set certain times, I have been able to get on early. I already have on my swimsuit under my clothes and a small back pack with a few things for comfort & a book.

We always get on early. Being high loyalty we want to use the perk of boarding early. Plus it counts as a day and we want to enjoy it. It also gives us peace of mind we’re on the ship, we’re here, not out there stressing about missing the ship

We try to get on as early as possible. We always look for sales when per booking anything. We often save 35 to 40 % on the extras.

I get on the ship as early as possible. First, the earlier you are on, the less people are crowded in to eat lunch. Second, like you said, I want my vacation to start as soon as possible. On our last cruise in June, we actually ended up booking a red eye flight into Miami and was at the cruise port by about 8 am. Not something I would normally recommend, but it worked out fine. I would much rather get in a day early and have a good nights sleep the night before the cruise.

I was thinking to board later because I was kind of miserable with the crowds once we got onboard. It was HOT in Miami and I just wanted to get to my cabin to put down my overpacked backpack. But the idea of hey I paid for it and should enjoy as soon as possible has changed my mind. I will try and reserve the earliest boarding time. I will have to leave my cousin because she’s going to make us be late.

Could you please advise which cruise insurance company will you recommend?

I fly in the day before on a red eye, so between being jet lagged and the 3 hour time difference, I am catching up on my sleep and checking out of the hotel at noon and get to the ship early or mid afternoon.

Even though we have a 4p embarking time, we should get there earlier? How much earlier?
