6 sack 60/40 line pump with pea 5” slump 3-4000 psi (we’ve tested it twice). It flows well and holds itself, in fact you can see the vibrator moves it to level. The spill out? Negligible even in the deepest area, I just sweat and put it in the footing.

I'm quite impressed with the @MakitaToolsUSA XGT vibrator. Much bet than the LXT.

In this week's episode of Awesome Framer's does everything wrong... yeah I feel you. According to the internet I do as well 🤣 Your videos are awesome btw!

It’s important you ignore what the internet says, especially YouTube comments. Including this one. I’m just grateful to be watching great content!

I'm all for doing less work, but I'm curious to know the cost of the "wasted" concrete from spill out vs the cost of labor to back fill the bottom of the forms

In Australia we don't box footings at all, we dig them into the ground and top of footings is aprox top of dirt .block is cut level.

Nail 2x4s horizontally to keep the forms spread the right distance, then nail a long 2x4 in the centre of the the form all the way down the footing. Then you can tie your rebar dowels to the 2x4 (template) and the dowel can be tied at the bottom of the footing aswell to the rebar.

You didn’t dig your footers at all. What good does it do above ground?

First time I saw one of your videos I thought you were like the beast mode framer guy. Now I think you’re better than everyone except Brent Hull. I’ve been swinging a hammer for 40 years and can only dream of being as smart, skilled, and funny as you.

You still have to dig to solid ground and have the footings under ground and above ground minimum 2 feet wide sometimes 4 feet wide if soil is bad or wet.

Use a 1x12 with U brackets and shoot grade inside with a laser. We did it this way for years and switched can't believe how much more efficient it is

Not hating, just curious, isnt the footer supposed to be below the frostline, here in ohio its 3.5 feet i believe

I dint understand excativing the building pad to footing depth. Here, we cut and engineer to rough finish grade then excavate a footing trench.

Not hating, however just wondering if the footing walls would lose structural integrity, due to the footing walls not being plumb, from blowouts?
I understand that you are saving labor, I just wonder what the state of that exterior wall or roof will be in 10

Looks nice. In the North North West West (Alaska), the outer footings typically get poured with insulation to help stave off frost heave.

Do you end up with less settling with inverted mushroom at bottom?

What is the 60/40? Gravel:sand?

i'd rather have fastFoot as a vapor barrier and form but you b you. Great videos.

You guys don’t have to worry about going below frost line ? I ask because I’m up in north New England

Thank you 🙏

I'm not doubting that this works just fine, I still would spend that little bit of time putting plywood, or even cardboard/ dirt and/or gravel to hold the spill out. But a heavy slump mix totally works like this, have done so before

Thanks awesome
What’s the highest you’ve had the boards off the ground? You mention it in the video but I’m curious about how many inches that is at your biggest gap for future reference

Appreciate you!

I wouldn’t argue with the “Awesome Framer”, he’s a framing savant. At todays cost of labor he has a great point.
