5 PRINCIPLES OF LAW
* Equality
* Resolving Conflict
* Peace & Order
* Will of the majority
* Social & Economic Behavior

Government - state or nation, rules over the population.
- men and women, voters of the country choose their leaders.

3 Inherent Powers (not written down)
1. Police Power - for peace & order
2. Taxation - for infrastructure, order, health & services, system/ community where people can live safely and secure
3. Eminent Domain - the gov't owns the land. housing and roads.

Constitution
- mother of all laws
- manual of the country
- all laws whether national or provincial must follow the rules Seth forth in its constitution

3 Branches of Government
* executive - carried out the law; appoints who are in the judiciary;
* legislative - makes the law
* Judiciary - in case if it's questioned, the judiciary makes sure that the law follows the constitution; can invalidate a law

each is considered equal to each other
