1. YES, we realized and knew that Stardew Valley is made by one person, the amazing Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone! We accidentally misspoke by saying 'developers' through habit, sorry we're not perfect!

2. After some further reading & comments about Super Zoo Story, we are aware that it's possible that the makers of the game have faced controversy due to being similar to Stardew in story and assets. We encourage you to do your own research to form your own opinions! As we are never here to impose on them or tell you which games you should or should not support!

I super appreciate that you actually associate Stardew Valley with high quality pixel art. Every other list I've seen has mostly been showing off 3D stuff which has a totally different feeling then pixel art does.

Just a note: Stardew Valley has only one developer, not multiple! (And same for Haunted Chocolatier, of course, since it's the same guy!)

But that aside, this is an amazing list and I hadn't heard of quite a few of these games, so I've added them to my wishlist! Thank you so much for this video, it was really informative!!

Thank you for putting moonlighter as one of the recommendation! I've had it long before I bought stardew valley, and love it so much because of the visual and gameplay (i just love pixelated games). Sun Haven is also another good one, and if you want something simpler (in term of storyline) but the similar gameplay, Forager is also a good option and it's available for co-op too.

Husband and I just started Graveyard keeper, and it is super addictive!! However, the game feels super incomplete without the DLCs. Fortunately, they are usually pretty cheap or on sale.

The zoo game looks cute, and I'm definitely getting Haunted Chocolatier. The only one not listed that I absolutely adore is Coral Island. I highly recommend it.

I've also recently discovered Travellers Rest :) It's a bit more freeform than SV and has a lot of crafting involved, but it's fun! :)

another similar game is Roots of Pacha! it's like a stone age stardew with more involved villagers and quite a nice story. it has pretty much the same concepts as well so you should definitely check it out :)

I don't see Dinkum in the replies, although I didn't read them all. Wonderful game. Build a town from scratch, farm, craft, raise animals, fish among other things all while doing so in the Outback. Cool game I have many hours in.

There was some drama with Super Zoo Story. They ended up straight up copying assets from Stardew, and I know they legally had to change their assets. So I hope they find their own style because I'd love to play it!
Also I'm super excited for Haunted Chocolatier!

Moonlighter and stardew valley are my top 2 comfort games. Ive replayed moonlighter + dlc for several times with different weapon on each replay
