I just installed mro gps, and wow what a difference, 22 sat, and very quickly to find them, , definitely worth the money

Great test love the fighter pilot mode on the screen yeah that concerns me a little bit at the end where it just dropped satellite may I know you we can fly manually but still shouldn't be doing that

According to NASA you only need 4 sats to get a lock on your position. So only having 8 - 12 should be enough and remember it has to do calculations for each sat. Also note that the US GPS System only has 29 satellites for worldwide coverage, I normally get about 12 sats when flying. My opinion is that it has more to do with the signal -- that's why people put the HERE GPS is raised above the motors to prevent interference.

Update. I installed my purple MRO gps and wow what a difference! I got 19-20 sat in half the time of my Rev A board. I’m gonna do some hover and RTH testing.

be careful my friend.. i almost crashed mine into the ground and had no manual control with that gps board... i was hoping it wouldnt do that to you too and it was just my installing it incorrectly or something to the effect.. so be careful and happy flying.

nice flight!!! does anyone know if there are any aftermarket gimbals for the 3dr? I really am thinking of pulling the trigger on one but damn that gimbal is expensive!!

The number of satellites isn't as important as the position of the ones you do have. 3 satellites located on different sides of the quad will give you a much better lock than 50 all on one side. The HDOP (Horizontal Dilution Of Precision) figure gives you a better idea of the quality of lock you'll have. Below 5 is pretty usable, below 1 is great.

Rev B? I loose gps flying low in the neighborhood usually drop to 7 or lower... You will be fine up high around 11 or 12 average is what I usually lock above the hood. What app was that btw? Why does solex sound different? I've only not flown a week, crazy updates
