3DR SOLO First Flight with GoPro Gimbal

My first flight with the 3DR Solo and the GoPro gimbal. Together they make a capable and rock steady Ariel video platform. In comparison with my Yuneec Q500+, I would say they are about the same. The Q500+ is quieter and the motors do not have to work as hard since the propellors are larger. I like the portability of the 3DR Solo though and it is much faster. In my next video, I will do my own range comparison.

Of the 3DR Solo, I've been waiting for someone to do a good video without all the fluff. And I can't wait to see the comparison video between the Solo and the Q500+. Thanks for sharing brother.

Nice job sir. I was surprised to see how stable it was when you hear the wind hitting it. I was considering this quad for an upgrade when I get the money together but after seeing Rcforlife's videos with yuneec q500 4k, I am now leaning toward that quadcopter instead. Who knows, maybe by the time I do get the money together something new will come out. Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. Thanks. Peace

Congratulations my friend for your first flight, but unfortunately get used to that turn the home lost signal I'm experiencing the same exact thing smh. The bad part is this is my second replacement. Not sure what the problem is but I think it may have something to do with the GoPro causing interference with this signal because when I fly without it I don't get no lost signal returned home maybe something with the new update don't know but I hope it gets sorted out soon. It's very steady, impressive! Other than some sun flicker off the blades the video was perfect. Perhaps a shade over the lens will clear up the flicker. Did you balance the props? if not, wow, that's cool raw video. Cool Quad Dan!!

Do you have a Gopro cam with Wifi on it, because the Wifi interferes with the controles.  That is the cause of many flyaways with the Blade 350QX.That gimble looks great
