Jared, I enjoyed you video very much. I joined the Church in June of 1971 in Kansas City. As a newly baptized member of the Church I visited all of those sites with my missionaries. I was present when Joseph Fielding Smith dedicated the Independence visitors center. I have been living in the St. Louis area now since 1976. There was a Brother Truman Lotty who drove the Prophet to Far West. HIs son is still in the KC area. You might want to get in contact with him. Also don't forget about the monument to the School of the Prophets at Troost Lake which is at 27th and The Paseo. That should be a day trip though as it is not in the best of neighborhoods. Just a passing note, when I joined the Church I did not think I would find any family history on my father's side as he was an orphan. I now know that on his mothers and fathers side there were Saints who where in Nauvoo who went west with the Saints. Some where along the line the chain got broken and it was I who got the tap on the shoulder to join the Church and link it all back.

I live outside KC as well and how we got here was kind of a miracle. In the summer of 2015 my family was about to move to the pacific northwest (Portland). We had even begun packing our bags. Out of the blue I got a great job offer in KC. I would have never moved here if that hadn't happened. Now seeing how much chaos has happened in the PacNW we are so glad we came here instead. Divine intervention.

My wife grew up in the church h and I converted in 2023, we moved to Tulsa OK last year and we feel the spirit much stronger here than we did in Oregon. I switched careers recently and mainly work in Missouri and northern Arkansas now and I do feel very drawn to the area. I almost feel like my path is leading us there divinely.

Stumbled onto this... Spot on and ongoing for many years. Being able to serve in Caldwell County in a unique elected capacity has been humbling.

My father moved to Missouri in the middle 1980's to the Monet-Springfield area. He wanted a ranch and the prices were reasonable back then. He had many friends from California who also found it advantageous to move to Missouri. I remember there was a big spiritual fervor, that it was time to "move back". Many families were moving to the Southwestern area of the state, and the church grew rapidly with a branch in Purdy Missouri. It was not long before Elder Bruce R. McConkie came to the area to call a new stake president. My father was called to be that person. He served a number of years before he returned to Utah to be closer to the family, who found it hard for him and mom to travel from Missouri and back to Utah all the time for important family events.

Elder McConkie gave a talk to help calm this spiritual drive of many people who were moving to the Springfield area because of the thinking it was time for the "church" to "move back" and build the New Jerusalem by supporting towns and cities. Elder McConkie stated that moving to Missouri was a good thing if people who came there were doing it with having a way to support themselves, and that just coming because of "end time reasons and prophecies" was not the right reason to move there. He said it was a great place to raise a family if that worked for them, but not for the reason of the "Second Coming". So he calmed the misunderstanding to the shock of many who were there, and were struggling financially. Many people then moved back to California and Utah. My dad & mom were retired and self-supporting, so that problem didn't affect him being there.

Since then, the church has grown rapidly and many branches became wards and converts from the native population. Just like everywhere else in the United States. It was however interesting to see this interesting direction back then.

I am 62 years old and I have a beautiful home up in Utah and I thought oh you know I know that some people don’t go to Missouri just those people that are called to go back to Missouri. And I thought that would be like an official calling, but I think that that is partial but not partial. I think that are people that are just having the strong nudge. And my example I have a home up in Utah that we wanted to go to. We haven’t got to live in it. It’s a big beautiful home and we live in Las Vegas. My husband works at the Las Vegas Temple, but for some reason I kept getting a nudge that we needed to go to Missouri and my husband said he sure doesn’t want to. There’s text there and I laughed and I said well you know there’s ticks in Utah too. Then we found out that our ancestors have graveyards that are my mother side and 28 miles away from Adam and the other one is 54 miles away. And then we found out that my husband also has ancestors that are from Missouri. This is a really big shock. Neither one of us knew it. And here lately we just had an edge and then we’ve been praying and asking father and I’ve read a lot of things like for example there are things in the journal discourse where it tells the Saints to be patient going back to Jackson County Missouri because it will be made desolate that not one Living soul would remain in the houses and so we know it’s not a tornado earthquake or time bomb that happens because the houses are still standing and Joseph Smith said that they would receive no opposition building that great city, and he said they would come from the west to the east. And I thought I’m 62 years old I hope that I don’t have to walk that far or I hope that I’m translated. It was talking to Adam not County and I started thinking. Maybe the Lord is prompt us to go to Adam Allmond for a maybe to prepare for the migration of Saints that will come from the west of the east. This was just a thought that came to me. But I couldn’t understand why are we not moving to Jackson County and then that’s when I found That revelation given by Joseph Smith not to go that we needed to be patient so my sister has been into hurricanes Helena and I think it was Milton and she’s sick of having to pay to put new roofs on her houses because and then just the whole thing is just been too hard on her so we were talking about. Where can we live and move? I don’t wanna live on the East Coast again that’s where I’m from and I love Utah, we decided Missouri decided Missouri and we will be very close to Adam and Mann about 20 minutes away. This is our story and I don’t know if this is a nudge from Emily father and I’m not sure exactly when we’ll get out there. we know that we’re buying our property already, but we are gathering in Missouri. I just wanted to share our story. Is this from God. I truly believe so.

I have a beautiful beautiful home in Utah and we live down in Las Vegas. We just get to go up during special times of the year conference, Education Week, etc., to stay in our home in Utah. We’ve always wanted to move up there we love Utah so much but then all at once I got that nudge and I remember when we were looking to buy a home in Las Vegas how many father told us to go to Utah first and we thought we were supposed to move up there immediately and he was teaching me about finances. And he had me by the home this beautiful beautiful home on the side of the mountain and the very day we bought it and we stood there seeing how big it was and I said how many father why did you have his buy this big home for? And immediately we were told that the time for us to live in it would not come and That it was to teach me how to grow his kingdom financially and he was blessing me. We were so sad. We really wanted to go up there and live in that home. I got accepted back to BYU again and we’ve tried so much to go back there and for some reason it just wasn’t happening And then we started getting the nudge to go to Missouri. Really really don’t wanna go to Missouri. And I’ve had to humble and be humble and we’re going to be flying out there in May. We found out that 28 miles outsideAdam Ondi Ahman there’s a graveyard that is my families graveyard and they lived there before a long time ago. This was through my mother side and there’s another graveyard that’s 59 miles outside of Adam Ondi Ahman. And then I came across an article that I believe was written by Joseph Smith and I found it on a YouTube channel out of the journal discourses how to find it and it says that the Saints need to be patient that they would come a time that the sites would be called back and this time they would head from the west to the east and that there would not be one living soul in any of the homes to prevent them and that we have absolutely no opposition and building that great city. So my first thought was well. The homes are standing, so why is there no people in the homes I was curious and my second thought was there’s no nuclear bomb there then that’s good to know and there’s no major Flood and there’s no war. I guess because the homes are still standing. If you guys want that I know I saved it and I shared it with other people. But anyway, so I kept hearing people talking about going to Adam on Diane Aman. And as I started to kind of look Saying wow the lands really cheap there I noticed it said Davies County and I thought wait aren’t we supposed to go back to Jackson County and I went and found that prophecy again. So I’m not sure what the Doerr is with that prophecy Jared. I know that you went ahead and you’ve moved back. I don’t know which county you’re in. I don’t feel prompted to go to Jackson County yet, but I have been very prompted to go to Davies County. Not sure why the church is doing a special Real Estate program there and we’re gonna go meet with them and check it out. So I’m not sure what this nudge is. I’m kind of reluctant. I do want to be there when the Lord‘s there but I know he’s gonna be everywhere in Sign’s gonna be everywhere and he know he’s going to the Rocky Mountains again too. And I love love, love Utah I’m not from Utah. I am from Georgia.

I remember in the late 1970s or early 80s that my husband went on a multi-state priesthood trip to Adam Andrea man

Since I was a teenager I've wanted to move there. Time will tell if it's meant to be.

people are being called to different areas for sure. Think of the ending part of Jacob 5 where the branches return to their mother trees. My family was called out of Oklahoma back to utah. though i have lived the past missouri and served my mission in OHIO... its not really THE gathering... rather the preamble to the gathering teaching the saints how to live there I think. But I could be wrong.

The Preston Temple is not in Preston, but the nearby town of Chorley.

I disagree with idea that the church is returning to Missouri. The Church has been here in Missouri as a body for a very long time. I moved here in '79 and have seen it continuing to grow and flourish. Maybe because I grew up in the church here in Missouri, but saying that it's returned is not correct in my opinion.

The more fortunate of my ancestors fled Missouri and there are still too many yellow dogs wagging tails for me to consider renting a Uhaul yet.
