Choosing the cape of billowing for the blackmail is such a chad move

“I haven’t known you to read” is a killer line

How creative you appear to people is directly proportional to how obscure the what you steal from is

Has a real “you’re sheltering enemies of the state, are you not?” Vibe

The guy saying it had crossed his path "once or twice" before cutting to a gigantic pile of the books absolutely wrecked me, partly because I wasn't expecting it to actually show his books, but mostly because the sheer quantity of books in the pile.

Funny thing.
-My brother came across this video and discovered Mistborn for the first time.
-He is not a fan of actually reading, but he loves audio books, so he got it on audible.
-He didn't mention it once until if finished listening to the story.
-He gushed about it to me.
-I do like reading and spend lots of time in bookstores
-I found the book and picked it up off his recommendation. Been loving it.
-I look for Mistborn videos because I am living it so much
-Because I am also a D&D nut, this video pops up.

And the circle keeps on going.

I love your style of comedy The immediate blindside of lighting is comical

"I haven't known you to read" felt Shakespearean. I swear that was a line similar to one in Julius Caesar.

The despair in "Don't tell the others" gets me every time.

"Wouldn't it be funny if we did a campaign based on Ninjago?"
These questions and more that have provided infinite trauma to my players' PCs.

This is why you never steal from a single source. Steal enough from enough different places, and it will seem original.

"It's crossed my path once or twice..." was said with the desperation of someone whos been caught red handed lol

Honestly, that player was fairly merciful. Of all the things he could have asked for, it was a Cape of Billowing. Fair trade, all things considered.

The gauntlet has been thrown. The DM will now be looking for more esoteric fantasy with messed up lore to mess with this player specifically.

I am in absolute awe of this man’s facial expressions and I seriously hope I can act out my characters with this level of expression someday

Understandable, the cape of billowing is the single greatest item

I knew that he took the idea from another book. But the fact that the whole campaign was a fanfic had me dying 😂.

As opposed to the time we realized the DM had reskinned LOTR. Before he realized it. The look on his face when he started realizing all the similarities was honestly priceless.

The same thing happened to me: I was trying to figure out where the DM got the word “Psion, ” so I looked it up. There was a wiki article dedicated to its usage in science and media. At the bottom of the literature section, I noticed an anime/manga that had a very similar name to our D&D campaign. Then, I clicked on the link and looked at the plot and charters.

Oh boy, did it all come together? Charters, story arch, even the goddamn tools. It was all in the world.

Anyway, I told him but promised not to tell anyone, and then three weeks later, another player found out.
