If it wasn't for Mean Gene, more than half of those wrestlers in the 80s would never have gotten over the way they did. A lot of those guys owe their entire careers to him

Mean Gene was a legend. Mean Gene was a big part of my childhood growing up watching wrestling. No one could do it better than Gene. Rip Mean Gene, you were one of a kind doing what you did!

I lost my mom in 1998 i was 17 and had to plan everything myself. Not 1 person showed up at her funeral. I was devastated. I had already lost my dad. My mom helped so many people get back on their feet over the years and not 1 person bothered to show. I will never forgive my family (especially) it was horrible.

The back and forth between Mean Gene and Bobby the Brain during their WCW was comedy gold. Rest in peace to you both.

When my mom passed, I was disappointed that not many people showed up. Made me feel awful. Life is cruel and unfair.

He was the best interviewer in all of wrestling. This guy played up the looks of disbelief and indignation to the max. Truly great!

Gene is just as important as Jim Ross, and Jerry Lawler are to the business. They are the hypemen, the voice of the business. Sad that no one showed because the fans know how important he was to the growth, and success of the wrestling business.

The more I see DDP, the more respect I have for him. The way he's helped so many with their addictions to this. It's always heartfelt when he speaks. Respect to you DDP you are the man. The others wish they had your class.

DDP comes across as the guy who had a career struggle he had, he’s so genuine and so respectful to every wrestle ever.

Dallas Page has so much heart and soul. A credit to not only Pro wrestling, but life in general. He has helped so many people change their lives for the better. Truly a credit to the betterment of the human condition. Thank you, Sir. And to Mean Gene, R.I.P. I was saddened to hear about the turnout. You deserved better. Thank you Gene for your contribution to wrestling history. You provided many memorable times.

I'm actually shocked that the boys from 80s wwf didn't show up, but I guarantee you if it was open to the public fans wold've poured in to say goodbye. Respect to DDP for showing up for Mean Gene.
RIP Mean Gene.

I remember Mean Gene from the 80's. This has got me thinking about how many people I watched from the 80's are no longer here--Macho Man, Elizabeth, Andre the Giant and a lot, lot more.

When he interviewed a wrestler he would give that glance at the camera/audience. His nuance was perfection. I will never forget him. Rest in peace.
