Had a friend who was there, said the same thing. No one from the wrestling business. Really sad. Gene deserved better. An absolute WWF/WWE and wrestling icon.

This clip still shocks me when I first watched it.
It's weird to see Hogan, Flair and other wrestlers who were close to Mean Gene not show up to his funeral.
That would be like seeing not many wrestlers show up to Howard Finkel's funeral, despite just being a ring announcer.

Still hard to believe that a voice of many generations after decades in the business never got the respect he deserved. All the people he spent time with, and all the amazing interviews. He was able to bring out of them. At least Dallas pay his respects properly.

He was greatest announcer in terms of interviews and promos that put over so many icons of wrestling and he was/is beloved by the fans the ones who actually care.
I geuss it's showbiz as no one from the biggest tv show of all time 'The Sopranos' showed up to Tony Sirico's (Paulies) funeral.

He was a big part of both the 80's and 90's wrestling boom periods and non of his contemporaries/piers except a couple of WWE suits, Kevin Dunn showed but no HHH! or what about Jim Cornette? Maybe Kevin Dunn just has a bigger heart and is a better person than you Jim!

When stuff like this happens you know who a persons TRUE friends are. Shame on all those that Gene put over and help make a star over the years for not paying their respects.
