Wow, Damien Echols' books have been my reintroduction to Magick after more than a decade after leaving the OTO where I was initated up to KEW. The Donald Michael Kraig book was indeed my entry point back in the early 90's and as your guest indicates I did in fact quickly get over my head and eventually crashed into poverty I'm still struggling to escape from having not done the preliminary elemental training.

As to the reality of spirits and beyond the muggle box of psychology where they think it's all just movies running around the cells inside our heads I started doing the basic LBRP a few years ago before I ever heard of Damien Echols and I was taken aback by the fact that he mentions the modification to add Metatron above and Sandalphon below. I got the same idea just from realizing, wait a minute, what's protecting my temple from attack above and below? The 4 angels around the circle would be great protection in Flatland. His books are like a new take on the DMK book that strips away all the noise and breaks it down to the basic ritual technology, especially the Angels and Archangels book which is blasting my Tarot and astrology into a whole new level.

It's very nice to hear someone who practices this system who isn't full of themselves and is blaming or shaming anyone. There are some other practitioners out there who I have seen on the YT who get mad when you say anything that's out of line with what they said, who are impatient, who want to curse/hex any other magician they suspect is working against them etc. I am not going to name names, but they are often very popular because they appeal to ego.
