Is the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra the best robotic vacuum/mop you can buy? And if it is, is it worth upgrading from your current one?

Quinn your fascination with robo vacuums and your continual coverage of them is pretty wholesome. Especially when you cover topics in the Audiophile space, computer, VR, etc. My kind of niche, with apparently 1.1 Million people who also share it. Thank you for doing you

I have Roborock S5 MAX now for 3 year, it cleans very well. I will continue with the same company of Roborock. I will purchase s8 Pro Ultra. Thanks for your demonstration

It says something that even your sponsored videos are fun to watch! I love my S7 Ultra, but it's great to see them continuing to evolve!

I believe more brands should contact you because this is the best way to do an ad. Even though I knew it was one, I was still interested all the time. Congrats!

"Mop can lift with ZERO contact to the carpet" - Shows B roll from the robot climbing on the carpet and dragging the mop across it 😆

3:09 I think it’s no coincidence that 20 years after the original Roomba debuted with its dual-brush design that a competitor has finally decided to follow suit.

edit: i said “20 years” because it’s the typical length of a patent, not insinuating that it took competitors 20 years to figure out that dual brush rollers are better.

I bought it yesterday in major discount for around 1 200 USD. Its my first robotic vacuum cleaner and i must say, its really really good

Really innovative naming for their products. I’ll wait for the S23 Ultra Pro Max Plus version tho

I have an S7 and it's still one of the best purchases I made for my home. Would love it to self-clean and have the new water fill section, but I'm v haps with my S7 :)

Was waiting for Vacuum Wars to cover this, but I’ll gladly take it from Snazzy.

Hi Quinn, 5:28 you mention zero carpet contact and then the robot drives directly onto the carpet raises the mop but it is still touching.. This is a similar design to the S7 which leaves people to do mopping runs then send the robot back out without the mopping pad on to do the carpeted areas. Cheers!

Hi, a vacuum enthusiast here. Do not upgrade to S8 if you already own an S7MaxV, or an older model even. Reason is there is no significant upgrade on S8. Some reviewers said that the pickup isn’t that great. Also Roborocks are very unreliable and will break in 2 years. I recommend going with a Roomba J7. Not the Combo J7, just the J7. Another thing to note here, S8’s water tank is unremovable, so if anything happens to the water tank, your robot is done. And roborock support doesn’t help as well. Keep your S7s.

What i like over the roomba is that this can actually dock itself without any help.

Love my 7- but the dock enhancements I've gotten via upgrades- eg drying / cleaning, but also I have a clean / dirty water tank accessory from their Korean store that hooks up to the water & drain- super worth it :) Think I'll stick to my 7 though- great video!

I’m still rocking my S4 from like 5 years ago and can’t wait to upgrade to this or it’s replacement in a year or so

The S8 has received outstanding reviews everywhere, so I don't find this review biased at all. I know the price is very high, but I tried to figure out how much it would cost to have a person come into our large home, vacuum every carpeted area (including under three beds), and wash every hard-surface floor. You'd be lucky paying a person $200 each time. In about 2 months, the Roborock would have paid for itself. We have had an S6 on each floor for three years, and they have paid for themselves many times over. Watch the reviews and find the robot that works best for your needs within your budget. In my opinion, for my needs, Roborock is the best.

I love your robot vacuum videos so much, I'll definitely splurge on a Roborock one day

The 8 looks amazing, but the 7 is still great. I messed up and got a version 4 trying to save money, but don't get any robot vacuum without the object (poop) avoidance and the new bristleless brush.

Excellent review, I don't need anything this fancy but it's cool to see. I have hardwood and travertine with no pets, so I've been looking at mopping solutions. Being disabled means mopping is my kryptonite. I bought a eufy 25c? quite a while ago, and it does the job pretty ok for general sweeping. It has some weird quirks, but over time, I've learned what it's shortfalls are and how to correct them.

Thanks for the in-depth review/ad. It was very informative.
