Recommendation for the next model: put some piping holes behind the dock and we can supply water directly from the mains. This means you'll never have to refill the water tank. Also there may a pipe for dirty water as well that goes straight to sewage.

I'll buy it as long as the price isn't insanely high. There's a lot of good competition in the Robo vacuum space at the moment

I'm still enjoying the S7 Max Ultra with the drying module I had to purchase separately. It's good that the Roborock s8 now includes the mop dryer because it makes a world of difference to dry the mop pad than for it to sit there damp and smelly.

Coming from the S7 MaxV Ultra, I don't think this is a necessary upgrade. Apart from the built-in self-filling & self-dryer (which is a separate module for the S7), duobrush and the improved mop, it functions almost the same as the S7. Otherwise, this is a spectacular buy for new owners. The mop and auto-wash feature alone is fantastic, if you have a fairly large house with a lot of hard flooring. Cuts cleaning time significantly while keeping fine debris and dust from accumulating over time. Though I do recommend waiting for a sale, like with the S7 MaxV Ultra during Black Friday for a better deal, if you're not in a hurry.

- The mop could be lifted higher than in S7.
- Water from a dirty tank could be filtered into a clean tank.
- The docking station could be a filter and air humidifier for the whole apartment at the same time.
- The vacuum cleaner could be quieter with the same suction power.

At the same time, the S8 being a better version of the S7 is enough for me.

I have Roborock S5 MAX for the past 3 years it cleans very well. Now i will buy this s8 Pro Ultra.

Impressive tech. It remains to add a connection to the water supply for automatic filling of clean and draining dirty water. And maybe dumping the dust down the drain too

Wish they designed the mop to lift off the floor higher in some way? The S7 still drags the mop across high pile carpets

I picked up the s7 maxv ultra on the Blackfriday sale any robot vac over 1000$ is a crazy tough pill to swallow. That said it's been a welcome addition and runs 2-4 times a day wish the dock was a garage with a door, so my 2yr can't keep turning picking it up or messing with it

The question is, do they still have issues with black carpets. And gets stuck on thick carpets?. We nneed the possibility to disable cliff sensor

I have recently bought a Roborock S8. There is a problem with is wall and obstacle system. It cannot detect the low hight objects close to walls and doors. For example, low hight cornice around walls are not detected and the robot keeps hiting them and makes odd and silly movements.
This result in:
- scraches on the device body and cornice
- mopping/vaccuming takes longer due to the unnecessary movements
- higher energy usage

To fix this, I had to edit the map and draw virtual walls manually infront of the walls. Unfortunatly there is also a stupid limit for using virtual walls!

I contacted Roborock support. They said that this has not been reported by anybody else so they will not fix it and I have to follow that through the seller!

Roomba is dead. I missed the S7 sale. Maybe a good think. This is going to be expensive

Coming from S7 Ultra. I only need the larger tank, and the washing component should be detached to clean.

I prefer the active mop system of the lastest Xiaomi vaccum or the Dreametech L10s Ultra
