Mike Pescod climbs the classic Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis in early winter conditions (November 2019).

Ask any keen mountaineer and climbing Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis will be high on their tick list of routes to do in their lifetime. With scrambling, pitched climbing, chimneys, exposed sections and culminating with the notorious Tower Gap, this 600m classic is a truly spectacular way to reach the highest point in the UK.

In winter conditions, the climb is a different experience again, and all the more rewarding.

After walking in to the CIC Hut your guide will lead the way around the Douglas Boulder and quickly gain the crest of Tower Ridge. The route scrambles it's way up, not always on the crest, but fun, challenging and with fantastic scenery all the way.
