Ironically when I quit all stims, supps and even caffeine a month later I felt like I could out-perform my previous self. Clarity of mind and purpose and talking a sober step back to look at the "big picture" is underrated.

From my experience, psychedelics are better utilised for creativity when it comes to big picture / out of the box / seeing a problem from another perspective. I think it can be helpful but most people miss-use it expecting answers to flow out of their brain.

I'm a software engineer and I tried adhd meds after talking to a psychiatrist & getting a prescription. I felt no upside, it just gave me anxiety a couple hours after taking it. So I just have the pills there just collecting dust. I did feel like I could focus slightly (10-20%) better, but the anxiety afterwards wasn't worth it. If you go to the gym you may understand the kind of anxiety I felt. Here, take 2 cups of pre-workout and don't go to the gym, instead, stay home and work. I felt like I needed to run a marathon every time I took the pills. That's the kind of anxiety I felt: I needed to move or I was gonna explode.

Creating jake tran type of videos is an excelent tactic for growing the chanel. Espacially focusing first on programming comunnity as a nische and then with this momentum converting chanel topics to the more popular subjects is a brilliant strategy. Keep it up Aaron, I love your videos.

The best brain hack is to have a nice adapted nutrition plan, quality sleep, cardio and weight lifting, good habits in general; eating shrooms and trying different psychedelics won't make you a genius, I can relate. Cold showers liberates norepinephrine, having sex increases dopamine, running liberates endorphins; there are so many cheap and healthy options; taking psychedelics takes money, time and even in a proper consumption dosage and environment, it may lead to unexpected behavioral shifts, since it changes the neural connections. Plus in the case of synthetic drugs, the odds are that you don't know what you are really given, and even some psychedelics are neurodegenerative.

Great article. However, if I have to take drugs to be competitive or to reach my goals in the job, it is time to change the job. It’s just a job, nothing more. But for some, the job and the status is their life. Fine for me 😀

I've taken adderall for about 2 years now. Started middle of high school and into college. Best case scenario (given I eat and sleep properly, and take doses at regular intervals) is I feel willing to do whatever comes next. I feel motivated and ready. Basically helping me with my primary issue which is a lack of that (ADHD). I do experience a little bugginess (feel my heart beating, bouncing legs, etc) but usually not much more than that. Adderall does NOT make me feel smarter as if I can solve more complex problems than I normally would be capable of. BUT, it does make me *feel* like I can do anything. If I had a hard problem to solve, I would at least *feel* that I could solve it with some hard work, and more importantly I had the motivation to do that. For example: realizing you have a bunch of homework to do, you pull up the first document and immediately get hit with "hoooly shit I gotta look up soo much for this, there's so much writing I have to do, this will take me like two hours." On adderall, you just think "I could totally get this done within then next hour if I try hard enough, ezpz lets get it." And it may take you 1.5 hours, and it might make you a little sad that you couldn't get it done sooner, but you got it done, and that makes you feel good. Then you feel like "alright whats next", as you pull up the next assignment ready to knock it out.

I don't like taking drugs, and having that feeling normally would be absolutely heaven for me. However, adderall still has side effects that hit me from time to time, usually insomnia. I've been interested in switching to Modafinil, as it's a much more refined version of adderall as some put it. I'm interested in microdosing shrooms as well, since those are basically harmless. I just want to be more productive with my time. I do struggle with productivity already, and I definitely take responsibility for that instead of just blaming ADHD and fixing it with drugs. But it is an avenue for improvement, and if the risk is low enough it may very well be worth a shot.

Don't get me wrong though, first things first - eat and sleep well, stop excessive p*rn usage, limit or eliminate social media (whatever usually glues you to the screen), do all that for at least 40 days and at that point you may not even need drugs. Things will change.

microdose user here: it works, not the way you expect but it helps you alot, the only thing you need to have in consideration is that you use the doses for enhancement and not for fun (you need yo be responsible) you need to have a good dosage control and you need to take a pause at least every 1 to 2 months just to not have issues like dependency or withdrawal problems

Good video Aaron. I believe there are 5 simple practices to living a long healthy life and delaying aging: (01) Eat well by cooking all your meals from scratch using ingredients that are not chemically treated, (02) Exercise regularly, (03) Have a positive attitude regarding all things in life - the good and bad times, (04) Always treat yourself good. Be good to yourself. Forgive yourself. (05) Treat others good. Never take advantage of somebody just because you can, or because you're smarter than them. . . . You can literally write a very long book on each of these 5 points. This is just barely scratching the surface. . . All these drugs people are taking in a desperate attempt to remain young, be more creative, enhance focus and intelligence is foolish in my estimation. In the end, there will be negative consequences. . . Again, good video. . . Thank you sir.

All these " study drugs " just do the effect of my hypomanic episodes as a type 2 bipolar. I have to say that I feel super good in my hypomanic episodes. I'm just myself but 10x more motivated, happy and I do feel smarter ( and not only " feel ". I'm better at work while in hypo phase ). That's why I stay unmedicated and just have to deal with the " downside " of my natural drugs.

I have ADHD and have taken prescription methamfetamine for it for a very long time, eventually I stopped and since then I got much happier, I feel like my creativity improved by a lot and I got much more social, which is actually a much neglected skill among software developers

When you've been working on a problem for awhile (focused thinking) and its time to sit back and let your brain do some work in the background (diffuse thinking), that's when its time to take psychedelics. It works with what's already in your mind. Relax, put your feet up and ponder your problem, you will be amazed at what new connections your mind makes, it loosens barriers allowing you to see things you would not otherwise have seen. A lot of it will be seen as nonsense when having come back down to normal reality, still write it all down, amongst the nonsense you may find something of value.

4:25 bro that is not piracetam... it's methamphetAm1ne.

edit: at 10:05 there is MDMA in place of testosterone, I think NBOME in place of HGH, and THC in place of peptides. Did you check what you were putting on the screen? lmao.

Modafinil has been a game changer for me since I discovered it a few years back. I don't take it often, but when I do I get focus, drive, and ignore the effects of tiredness/sleep deprivation. Side effects have been limited to massively reduced appetite and increase in disagreeableness. I praise it to all interested ears.
