Should the class width always a whole number or it depends on the number given?

Then how to find the width ?

What is there is no no of class to find out the class width and only high value and low value are given ?

Thank you so much for the clarification. The example in my book gave 55.86 as the class width and said to round up. This led me to believe that during my problem with a class width of 83.2 that I should round down.

How do I find the width when the information I’m given is this: class limit: 43-47 Class Boundaries: 42.5-47.5 Mid-Point: 45 Width:? My book says width should be 5, but I keep coming up with 1....help!
