Thank you for this. I'm entering my third year of law school and want to become either an Army or Naval JAG officer after graduating. The fiance does not want me to join because she does not want the military assigning us a location that will make her miserable and affect her asthma (like Alaska or anywhere that gets really cold). You mentioned that the military will not likely place you at your top location preference(s), but would they at least place you somewhere on your list? If that's the case, I can present this to her and explain that we could simply list only the locations she would consider living in.

Yes. My recruiter (reserves) said I was going to be assigned to a flying unit again to fly (I was a combat systems officer on active duty) but I got Force Support Officer. Bullshit.

i highly recommend you let people know NOT to quit/back out in basic training. You might get stuck at basic training for at least 2 cycles which is almost a year for some
MOS’ doing stupid details.😂 Go Army!!
