Tory Carnage in Local Election Results

The local election results are being reported thick and fast now, and this will have continued since recording, but there was already a pattern of terrible losses for the Conservatives, and huge gains for Labour, the Liberal Democrats and Green Party. There have also been some very interesting individual results, including a big boost for a progressive alliance.

Lifetime Labour supporter, after following your advice I checked out the tactical voting website. Voted Lib Dem again. My council has always been Tory. Last time around it went no overall control. This time it looks like the Conservatives will have only one seat out of thirty six. If I have to keep voting Lib Dem to keep the Tories out, that is what I will do.

I saw Jonathan Gules being interviewed. It was priceless. He said the Tories lost seats because Kier Starmer stopped them passing popular legislation. I think he might even have called Starmer a a leftie lawyer 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I'm in Medway (Chatham) and on the week before voting we had a leaflet through the letterbox telling us one of the labour councillors was accused of murder. Tories have no depths they won't reach.

I've continually heard Con - men [ and women ] conflating 'reducing inflation' with 'cutting the cost of living'. To quote Peter Stefanowich, " This is utter bollocks". A journalist this afternoon pointed out that a block of cheese in Aldi [ other supermarkets are available ] was £4. If the Con-men halve inflation from 10%+ to 5%, the cheese will STILL be £4, not the £2 it used to be.
