2️⃣ have already claimed this exclusive offer!

Vow of the Disciple is Destiny 2 Witch Queen's New Raid. it has by far some of the best lore and story telling of any raid in Destiny to date! The lore impacts major areas of the story to the point that it rewrites big parts of what we know about the Hive and the Darkness! These are my first impressions!

Honestly I'd prefer a series - give individual bits the attention that they deserve.

I just feel like I had to say that rhulk actually feels like he is fighting you in his boss fight. Like he doesn’t just sit there and let you hit him he actually fights back and it just makes for an absolutely amazing boss encounter

I'm all for a series because it allows for greater detail on certain aspects of the raid makes them easier to watch without having to stop do something else and come back to it and won't burn out our beloved lore daddy Byf

The real implication in the lore I’m more fascinated by is the possibility that each ship has their own servant of the witness, which is both intriguing and terrifying.

I was expecting the pyramid to be extremely claustrophobic. But I was impressed and disturbed by how vast and open it was. It felt like a tardis 🔥

Finding out the Hive were lied to: “Ye know, I genuinely feel bad for them.”

Finding out Xita, the Nuturing Worm was stolen away from her children against her will, and that the Worm Gods in some way were lied to and used: “C’est la vie”

Just a thought: I don't think the Witch Queen lore that expands on the history of the Hive can be considered as retroactive continuity, because it doesn't meet the requirement of breaking continuity. If we consider those story pieces retcons, then any flashback is always retcon. We knew from the beginning that the information we had on the Hive's history was from an unreliable and biased narrator, all they did, through Rhulk and Savathun's memories, is add and expand information, but nothing that we knew about was retconned or contradicted, no continuity was broken.

A series please, Byf. This raid NEEDS focused videos and as nice as a long video would be it would mean skipping over a lot of things that need discussing. More importantly, we don't want you to burn yourself out!!!

Hey byf, I was watching your video on the old allegiance quest, and noticed something interesting. In the lore you read, the drifter is stated to be cleaning a glaive. Then, when he disguises himself, he used the name "Fynch". Probably nothing, but too intriguing to not mention.

I think a series would be better than a big mega-video, especially with how...interesting...the lore book is, I'm extremely excited to see you talk about that!

To me, the revelations about the place of the Hive in their heirarchy actually humanized them. It was like when you realize that Cleopatra was born closer to the invention of the Iphone than the construction of the pyramids (is that an outdated piece of trivia? I haven't googled it.) The hive were so much more like any other species than they were like the darkness, it makes sense that Savathun woukd turn to the light. Rhulk says at some point that they got close, but still sought some kind of Purpose that held them back. The hive carried out sword logic, and fed Death, but that they still had something resembling their own culture or forms at all brings them closer to us than something like Rhulk.

Let's get a series going, I know myself and many others would greatly look forward to it

This bit of lore really is a "banana for scale" against all the things that the races of Sol deemed to be great conquests or empires. It makes them really miniscule in comparison to the grand game unfolding before us. Perhaps this game will soon span multiple systems in the galaxy, or perhaps to a galaxy not our own?

I find the caretaker for extremely interesting, a hive worm in a scorn body. Stronger and stranger than most other scorn

I've seen bits and pieces of the raid and watched one group beat the end boss just this evening. Even just the look of the boss; it's nothing like we've ever seen in Destiny. If this is a taste of what is coming over the next few years....just wow.

Just watching the raid and playing the preservation mission, as soon as we go in the pyramid, it felt like being in a completely new game with the setting, lore and the disciple itself and everything about him

At first I thought that Rhulk was a member of either the Aphelion/Veil race, but then he revealed he was Lubraean and the only living one that remains. Does this mean that we now have seven confirmed distinct alien races? Or could it be that in becoming the witness’ disciple, Rhulk transformed into a member of one of those races since we know both are closely associated with the darkness?

The fact Rhulk went and took on the leviathan 😂 Makes him solely the most OP character we faced 100%

A series sounds amazing. Being able to deep dive into a focused topic would be a great way to learn all the lore tidbits in the detail they deserve
