"My highest altitude I've been to is classified." Man that's the coolest shit you've ever said.

it's so fun watching Adam flex how tasty his skin is to octopuses

"He likes the taste of your skin"

Filed in "phrases you want to hear about an octopus", or "phrases you don't want to hear about a serial killer".

I still remember him saying “no, honey, those are octopus hickies.”

I cared for giant octopus at the national zoo for 10 years, and never lost my fascination with them. My favorite thing was when I sprayed them with water and they would worl their arms together to shed their suckers. I can never really know what they were thinking, but their behavior made you think that it felt good.

My dad just passed away 2 days ago and I find myself watching Adam a lot because he reminds me of him. Stay as happy and curious as always, Adam. You help people in ways you don't even realize

When Adam talked about communicating across species boundaries, i turned around to where one of our cats. She heard me turning around, we slow blinked each other, assuring us everything is fine and she went back to sleep. Yup. Totally agree.

I was incredibly jealous of you for getting to fly the U2, if I recall you and Jamie were gonna flip for it but he saw how excited you were and just gave it to you which says plenty about his character. I'm glad you enjoyed the F-18 flight because you seemed to spend a lot of it puking!

I can't help but feel like in that moment when you look the octopus in the eye and it squirts water at you, it feels like it's trying to communicate something along the lines of "I see you friend, I know you see me too" and that's just an incredible feeling

Adam: "I've always loved octopuses."
Me: [Looking at my octopus necklace, octopus keychain, two octopus dresses, and 4 plush octopuses on my bed] "Yes, me too."

Man this is just beautiful. As an aircraft mechanic I would have said the U 2 flight but you got me with the octopus storyline. I love nature too. Just amazing.

I can listen to Adam talk about things all day. The level of passion he speaks about everything with is so awesome!

I highly recommend the documentary "My Octopus Teacher" on Netflix. It's about a marine biologist who befriended an octopus while studying a kelp forest.

Anyone remotely interested in these amazing creatures should watch “my octopus teacher” a beautiful film that (deservedly) won the academy award for best documentary.

Reminds me of visiting a zoo, walked up to a tiger enclosure and this one tiger just locked eyes with me, came to the front of the enclosure and just started pacing up and down, never breaking eye contact. Never has a double-chain link fence looked so flimsy. Seeing a tiger on TV is one thing, having one stare you down from about 8 feet away gave me a whole new appreciation of the words "Apex Predator".
Then it pressed it's ass against the fence and sprayed me with wee-wee.
Not the most majestic end to an incredible encounter... but very few people can say they've been peed on by an Albino Tiger.

I believe at 1:03, Adam almost said how much of California he could see (all of it or from X to Y?) and quickly caught himself, realizing that given that info, one could calculate a good guesstimate of his classified altitude. Quick thinking there, Adam. :-)
