The base model actually came with the 2.0L NON turbo with the 6 Spd Autos or Manual. (Or At least here in the US)
The N-line/Sport variants came with the 1.6L turbo with DCT option. This specific trim model is an example NOT to buy if you dont want problems.
2018 base model owner, with nearly 100k miles. ZERO issues. Not as zippy as the N-line but at least I have peace of mind the engine won’t be turbo killed lol.

Here in Europe, this is Hyundai i30, 1.6 L MPI, chain timing, manual, 136 HP. It surpassed the VW Golf. It's a Tank.

I just rolled 400k on a 2004 Kia Rio. Original motor and transmission. All I ever hear (including Scotty) is that it's a POS. Paid 9k for it new so I'm laughing all the way to the bank.

I have the most basic car on the road 2014 hyundai i20. 4 speed automatic transmission with 1.4 litre normally aspirated engine. 230k km never had any issues change the oil every 5k km keeps on going. No fancy gadgets no fuss no muss

2012 Genesis Sedan 3.8 249k miles.
I do all maint. Bought my injectors online (Denso) and did plugs as well. No issues with car at all.

The end line has a 1.6 turbo 200 hp. The regular one is a 2 l NA motor

Reliability issues aside, it's a shame Hyundai stopped selling the Elantra GT (a.k.a. i30) in the US. It's exactly the kind of small hatch-back I like.
The new i30 N over in Europe, etc. looks like a lot of fun.
