OK, I just completed the Trans America Trail on a dual sport bike and spent $700 on this camera with accessories. Do not buy one of these. The side door blew off going down the road somewhere, which I thought would be easily replaced by insta360. Here is what they sent me, "Our camera and accessories recommend that you use it at a speed below 80km/h, there may be safety hazards if you exceed this speed, sorry we cannot replace the USB cover for free." Really, so why do they sell a motorcycle kit if they expect you to not go over 80k or 49mph. Just a heads up that they do not stand behind their product. The cost of the door is not the issue, it is the principle, and they should not market this to those of us who ride. Sorry, I do not like giving negative comments, but I just want to inform others. Also note that I took great care of the camera and it was always mounted on the bars and not the side as they show you can do. Camera was removed and stored in a case every night to make sure I protected the lenses.

Love the ethos they take, I've a One R for a year now & each firmware update brought new features, so not surprised at the modular upgrade path with the new RS.

Well done Insta360, smashing it 🤘

This camera looks like a beast, really liking a lot of the features on it. Very solid alternative to GoPro now. Good video mate, as always

I just bought one and the amount of stuff you can do on it surprised me no end, The phone app is actually really powerful and very easy to use and the ability to add music, which you can't do on the computer version, makes up for the lower quality video. Big size video files also has a bunch of limits which is frustrating when it comes time to upload onto social media sites too. So i think the phone app is actually Insta360's secret weapon.

As a Moto vlogger I simply love the 3 level signature on off beep of the Gopro. But since I have chin mounted it on higher speeds the pipes and winds get louder and I simply roll my eyes down the visor to see the display to see if it’s recording.
So the Beeps not a biggie
2.GoPros do have a standard mic/mic+ option but has to be manually set (example for the rode video micro NTG you have to set it to mic+ as it’s a self powered mic)
But if you forget to turn it back to standard for your helmet lapel mic you might as well use Paul mauriats music to replace your clipped audio 😀
3.The media mod is brilliant but such a pain every time to remove a battery the whole housing needs to be dismantled (gopro never listens to us bikers)
3.The weight of the unit is 135 grams against the hero 10s 150gms plus the media mod at 65 gms
I have a modular helmet from caberg and the Hero 10 rig pulls the face unit down all the time and sometimes gives me a neck ache .
4.What I don’t like is their record “on” light. We all know red is a long wavelength light as compared to blue. It’s hard to spot . But again not a biggie in Moto vlogging

Btw what’s the mic inside your helmet?
Though I love the fact that the mic type pops up. But what I love to see is a db meter so I can choose by +/- boost levels
Only seasoned sound engineers will know how much db boost or cut to do with what mic. And when we are riding long distances will simply want to plug n play.
And also is there any swappable Nd filter option?
And yes if you are editing these on FCP Would love to see your work flow
Ride safe

I’ve got the one x2 and I 100% agree. It’s super reliable. I never have issues and connecting to it is so easy and the software is so much better. An update on the original 360 one R was long over due.

Not sure how good it would be for the OneRS, but I've found that a neoprene can coozie works really well as a GoPro Max protector and way quicker to put on and off, than the two screen caps. Though you could just drop the individual modules into it when not on the camera and store that in your bag.
Overall the new update looks nice, nothing ground breaking over current. Until a company can make that next step in quality, especially in regards to 360 resolution ill stick with my current Max.

Thanks for the detailed information. Can you help me decide which should I go for insta 360 one x2 or RS??And does RS have all the features as one x2 do?

Rob this is a total game changer! I've been looking for a camera like this so I'm very keen to see how it goes in the long term. And I'm really keen for that next video on how you edit on the desktop. This might be the one I've been looking for to replace the GoPro hero 8 black! Game on brother!

Awesome content. I am currently using the Go 2 for motovlogging and shooting in different motorcycle angles and it's very lightweight and unnoticeable itself mounted on the helmet chin but want to upgrade for this for more immersive recording. Downside of Go 2 is that you can't really voice audio while riding but the pickup if walking or regular vlogging is superb.

Yeah I have the Insta go 2 and it’s good for what I use it for, I’m leaning towards going with this camera as well. The go pro 8 and 9 have got their issues for me as well.

Great review brother. I just ordered a 360 1rs set up a couple days ago. What’s weird is they still don’t have Lens protectors for the 4K boost lens. I just spoke with them. It’s clearly needed, so I don’t know why they haven’t jumped on that? They’re just losing revenue. Putting the camera in a protective bag we’re not using it is no problem, but I would still be concerned about a rock chip when out riding.

Do you think the stitching is worse than on the One X2?
In 2:16 it looks pretty bad to me...

Hey..one thing which I noticed about your moto vlogs is that you don’t have a visor on your helmet and still you manage to get a clear audio out of your motovlog without any wind disturbances..can you please share the way you have placed your mic for moto vlog

Well I just bought the one inch edition of the one rs. Wish me luck. I’m gonna shoot motovlogs on it along with lots of other stuff.
