I'm just glad that Chevy, Ford and Dodge produced some cars that enthusiasts loved.

Im a Ford guy (coyote) all day but I love cars and don't discriminate. Chevy is a close 2nd wouldn't catch me in a Mopar though lol. My brother has a built forged internal 4.6 3 valve making close to 500whp. 13.1 compression and revs to 8k. He walked my coyote when it was stock. Not anymore though hahaha

That's why Coyotes pull LS's at the top end. Despite being smaller than them.

The dohc 4.6 is 30 inches wide, 4 inches wider than a 460 bbf, definitely something to think about for swaps

True they are truck motors the 4.8 the 5.3 and the 6L LQ 4 LQ9 but they have a similar architecture to the LS family LS1s LS2s LS3s LS7s so they pretty much fall into the same category it just considered to be vortec

Hello BCG.

I love thr vids, they are very informative.

I'm curious???

I've heard you say that the LS 2-7 is a faster motor than the Coyote.

I have a 2007 Lincoln Town Car, and was wondering how much tinkering it takes to swap an LS Motor into it, and gettin 500 horsepower naturally aspirated?

What parts internals would I need?

Thanks in advance, and please keep the videos comin!!!

I agree both have their advantages, LS motors fit much easier in older cars. I have a friend who is converting a Gen1 Bronco to an LS3, way better fit than a Coyote. He has paintied the block and heads Ford blue to make it feel more at home.

Well said, the vortec is the cheapest/easiest performance drop in, iron block which is stronger, and lower compression. Boost and go show them who's boss !

Best thing to do with coyote is get a gen 3 mustang gt engine with a 10 spd AUTO, forge your bottom end, leave your stock heads, put a big turbo/supercharger kit, up grade your fuel system, put a wicked e85 tune and finally have a lot of money in the bank, a black card or be prepared to eat cup noodles, beans, boiled peanuts, sardines and sandwiches for a year straight 😆 🤣 😂 💀

LS is hella cheap and you can find them in trucks, cars, vans anything GM made the 2nd gen Escalades had a crazy 6 liter that made stupid power stock. The coyote is harder to find and much more that's why even though I have 2 fords I can admit the LS is better overall.

5.3 vortec is simple the code to let you know it was in a truck or van it came with a truck cam instead of the higher lift cams found in the Camaro and corvette. They are exactly the same motor with differences in stroke trucks having the low end torque cars having mid to high end torque (corvette). It is not ls based it is the truck version ls has a deeper oil pan and sump due tho the clearance of height and to aid in cooling for towing it is nothing but a ls with a different rod a different valve size or a different cam. All on the same ls block
