What’s the movie about?
Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser), an American adventurer, travels to the ancient city of Hamunaptra, “the city of the dead.” Accompanied by Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz), a librarian, and her brother John, they accidentally awaken Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), an evil mummy who causes chaos as he searches for the reincarnation of his long-lost love.

I love how Rick has some Honor despite Beni screwing him over and others he still tried to help him

Well, one thing is for sure: he died as an unbelievable wealthy man… not just in the way he had expected.

such a classic scene. its always better when a character earns their death in a film instead of the writers simply killing off a character for shock value or plot convenience. Beni earns his death over the course of the film by backstabbing Rick at every turn.

I remember I freaking gasped when Jonathan dropped the Book of Life. The secret of resurrection! Dropped into a well. I completely understood why Evelyn was so upset.

Ironic how the gold betrayed him. The weight of the gold, usually more the better to breed the greed, led to Beni's own death.

Greed. It was greed that caused his death. He was already outside. But he went back inside for more gold. And because he did, he wasn’t able to get out in time. Let that be a lesson that greed is never a good thing. Though most of the time I can’t see it causing you to end up like he did.

To be fair, had the scarabs not been there this scene would be so much more horrifying. Trapped in a tomb with zero way to escape left to die of either thirst or hunger would be way worse.

Beni shut the door to Hamunaptra on Rick at the beginning and now Beni has shut the door out of Hamunaptra, and to Rick, at the end. I never noticed that when I was a kid

First Rick has to go back and drag Evelyn away and then he has to go back and drag Jonathan away, he's probably thinking these two aren't paying me enough 😂
