at 7:11 why is the sheer force pointing up on the right cut, but downwards on the left cut?

I dont understand where should I make the cut on the beam, how the determine the cutting position? Let say the cutting in 5:45, why cut is on there but not on other position, can you answer me please.

In the early presentation, you discussed boundary condition about beam being simply supported and cantilever. What would be the boundary condition if beam is pinned support in left side and fixed in the right?
