The luggage tag specifying the final destination makes it so much simpler

The problem is that when you travel with two different airlines, if your luggage is lost at this time, none of the airlines will accept responsibility.

Thank you so much for this video, I will b going through connecting flights with different airlines soon & watching this saved my life because I actually thought through all cases the luggage goes to the final destination directly. Silly me 🤦🏽‍♀️. I am glad I watched this video, thanks a lottt😊

Airport apps and airline aps are great as you can get alerts of the next gate and if they have changes and maps of the airport etc make it soooo much easier

Great information and pretty important stuff to know. My wife and I are doing a Vancouver to Manila trip in October Air Canada /ANA with a two hour layover at Narita. I did the same flight several years ago and thankfully the luggage was moved for me.

I happened to get pushed your videos in my feed last month, and I'm glad I did! I work in training and you do such a great job walking through information logically and thoughtfully. You don't over explain, which maximizes the effectiveness of all the content you create. No questions, but I wanted to give you props for your videos and information!

Hello, It’s my first time travelling alone im barely adult xD im kinda scared. In Canada, theres a dimension limit on carry-on luggages but theres no limit in weight.. I will be in a different airline on my 3rd layover will they have a different carry-on policy? From Air Canada to Eva Airlines (Taiwan)

Thank you for the video, the information was very clear. I would like to know if once I self-transfer my luggage to my final destination, I can explore the airport because I have a 10 hours layover.

Hello Sir, thank you for the very helpful and informative video. However, I have a question I hope you can help with. If I am travelling to the US on 2 connecting flights across different airlines with various baggage allowance regulations, which one do I follow? Does it mean I have to pay for my luggage on one flight but not the next or does the first airline baggage allowance rule apply to all flights until I reach my final destination? Thank you in advance!

Hi Ben, thanks for sharing. This past Monday, I had the worst experience with United Airlines. Btw I am a US passport holder. My original itinerary were as follows: Washington DC - Chicago with a layover of 5hrs. Chicago to Delhi with a layover of 17hrs. Both were operated by United Airlines. However, from Delhi to Kathmandu (final destination) it was operated by Vistara. I had one bag I was going to check in. When I went to check in for my flight Monday, they said they couldn't send my bag to my final destination and I would need to re-check my bag in Delhi. Now normally this wouldn't be a problem (usually when I go to Nepal, I go through Doha, Qatar) except that it's India and they require tourist visa to enter India. I would need to go through Indian customs to retrieve my bag. Not knowing this in advance and maybe it's my fault for assuming my bag would go to my final destination, I didn't have a visa. So I ended up rebooking my flight. Also, side note, I booked through United Airlines website, not through a third party organization. I was livid! Tell me, is it common knowledge that people should know this? What advice do you have for future bookings, checked luggage and connections? Is it on the passenger to know this specific detail or should the airline have warned me (or informed me after the fact) when I booked that I would need to recheck my bag in India? Btw, this is not my first time traveling internationally. I have been to at least 10 foreign countries by plane and had my bag go to my final destination. Thanks.

Great video, I’m connecting via Boston to Cleveland next year from Heathrow. This has put my mind at rest a bit. We booked through virgin but all flights are through delta! 1h30 layover. Wife is worried but I think it will be fine!

Hi Ben..thank you for sharing..i have a question..i am travelling from Greece to San Domingo with a stop at JFK airport..both flights are operated from Delta airlines as a single ticket..my question is this..do i have to recheck my baggage at JFK airport..?? or my buggage will be sent from Greece directly to San Domingo??I am asking because my waitting time between the two flights are 2hours and 20 minutes and i am afraid it will be too tight .. thank you very much..

This video helped me a lot! My roundtrip ticket is with New Zealand Airways, so all my flights will be with them and we booked it all in one ticket. Do you think I’d still have to grab my bag and recheck it in before going through customs at my connections?
