I’ve literally watched hours of videos for these two issues, this one was by far the simplest explanation. Thank you

Finally someone telling people to start with the ankle. Your knees and hips will follow almost automatically.

Thousands times repeating "no leaning back", what I used to say is "look in front of the nose of your skis, interesting things are only there, bit ahead of ski, only there are interesting things, look for them" 😉😊 this is the wording that helps to describe this front/back position and illustrate first steps goal 😊, very valuable and essential tutorial 👍

I just realized how similar a ski turn is to a counterbalanced turn on my dirt bike! 🤯

i also always highlight the importance of having your upper legs stacked under your hips so that they are supporting it with your skeleton/main musclegroups, yes there is a small window in which your legs can move out a bit but its narrow and if you go outside it you are skiing on your non main muscles.

Helpful video, I think I have a hard time keeping my shins forward the whole time and it’s something I need to work on. Went skiing a couple days ago for the first time in six months here in California. I had so much pain not on my shin but just right of it on the side of my leg, worse on the right side. I have come to the conclusion that it’s due to my form and having little ankle flexion forward? It’s just unnatural to me and something I need to fix because I was hurting myself 💀

I let my daughter use competition boots from the age of around 6-7 to force her to lean more forward on the skis. Worked very well even if they were stiff and uncomfortable.

Great video but no one has yet explained why I can't flex my ankles (forward), when moving?
Even through my weigh is forward, (pressure even across foot, then felt on toes arms forward ) & boots not too tight and relatively soft flex 90. I can do this statically.

I tried to put my bodyweight over my outside ski, faceplanted and broke my collarbone

When you say flex the ankle do you mean Doris-flexion or plantar-flexion? Just to get a better picture in my head about my foot placement.
