I won primary custody, only because of enormous effort. I should have had primary custody on Day 1, but instead it took over 3 years. We shouldn't have to go through that just to be treated as equal parents. My goal is to level the playing field since I found family court is obviously biased against dads. Therefore, I will teach you the strategies I used to win custody. You need to understand the system and how to fight for custody as soon as you can. You can’t wait until the trial is over.

Fathers should have equal parenting rights, whether unmarried or going through a divorce. You may be seeking temporary custody, primary custody, joint physical custody, 50/50 parenting, or legal custody. You may or may not want a divorce lawyer or family law attorney. And you may seek out resources from father’s rights advocates.

Ultimately, you need to learn how to win a custody battle as a dad, largely by focusing on the best interests of the child. You are getting a divorce from your ex, not your children. And if you have a Restraining Order or Order of Protection against you, it’s an uphill climb. The silver bullet in family court can be deadly. If restraining orders are based on false allegations, there are ways to turn that around to your advantage. I did. But you must be assertive. And you have to learn how to navigate the forensic evaluation, CPS/ACS children's services investigations, and family law.

I am sorry you are in divorce/family court. But if you think it’s in the best interests of your child for you to have equal or primary custody, I am laying out what I learned into this docu-series, to give you a fighting chance.

I'd like to know where the idea that "honesty" is a best interest factor came from. It can & should be helpful in your case, but I've never seen it kisted anywhere else, as a best interest factor

This is it boys. The battle of battles. Currently we have 50 50, with me getting every weekend.. as great as that is, it's still very difficult to get our son enrolled in all the programs he needs. He is extremely talented. I've had him in music lessons for several years and he can play drums and the piano. His baseball skills are tremendous, but as the other boys commit to better programs, they are catching up. I have a dream of primary or full custody.. And I know it is my son's dream as well. His mom and her partner hate me.. always have always will. I believe that attitude is extremely toxic. Plot twist. She actually filed on me. So now I'm preparing for war. She doesn't want to have to participate in baseball All-Stars this summer. Even though he is one of only two players from his team to make it.

My husband just fueled for custody of his daughter after many years giving mom the chance to change. She has 5 kids with 5 different men he’s the third man but she has not taken their daughter to school a lot is moving every year doesn’t take her to doctor or dental appointments just us she hs missed so much school and was pulled out of school without her mom telling my husband I hope he gets her so we can do everything g she deserves

Im a mother, my baby had two healthy parents. I did nothing wrong but leave a bad situation. The judge and mediator traumatized me. I went through 5 expensive lawyers and they just drug things out longer and milked my father's inheritance. . .I'm representing myself, I've been studying everything I can, and it's out of spite. They can all suck it. taking my baby from his two normal healthy parents, traumatized him, and gave him to my ex husband who is extremely abusive. Who in turn, turns around and give my son to his 1/8th whatever brother and a house of ex-cons. Nice. . .that mediator. I'm so mad. I totally relate to Cape fear. . I do really. . Anyway, sorry about the rant. I do appreciate you helping people, like your advice, and how you explain things in a way I understand. . . Thank you. Much appreciated. . Child support is voluntary. Period. But they make it impossible for the dads to plead their case because everyone thats part of the system receives grants, money, incentives...you name it. You have to go in and Identify yourself as a custodial parent and have the courts prove otherwise. They must prove you unfit, or they are committing peonage

In Canada the only best intrest of the child a judge is considering is that the lawyers kids have a BMW to drive to college.

If you want primary or 50/50 custody of your kids (instead of being a non-custodial parent), you have to be prepared to show the court, in THEIR language, that you should have that role. The Best Interests of the Child is their language. Address these topics during your trial testimony, in clear and convincing detail, and your odds of getting primary custody increase.

So I just got a form where the ex wife counsel just objected to all of my exhibits. It's stressful because some of the things are the same things they are presenting like the talking parent transcripts, but it's annoying knowing that the judge could allow theirs and dismiss mines because of a technicality. I'm now going to base my questioning based off their exhibits and once they admit theres I'm going to be able to still ask my questions to their surprise.

I feel like alot of this was talking about trying to justify being the better parent or who is worse or finding their flaws to leverage in court....we are both great parents i just dont beleive i should have to pay her to see my children.

I recently attended an ER CUSTODY hearing. I have previous DC police reports on her for beating me up in the past. Mother also left child on my door at one month old because she has drinking problems.

At the hearing, the child was not supposed to attend as directed on the custody paperwork, my lawyer didn’t even mention it until last minute (literally we were called into court room when he suggested the child should be here) As I was called into the hearing, judge asked for the child to be present since she was not I was subject to follow the sergeant and was locked in a holding cell as if I committed crime. My lawyer did nothing or didn’t even ask why I was being detained. I have no arrest warrants, have a clean record, and again was taking care of the child since she was left on my door step.

After a while when my daughter arrived they called me back into the courtroom whole time handcuffed and treated like a criminal. I didn’t get a chance to speak nor was I able to utilize my custody documents for the hearing. I had proof on documents and videos of everything that occurred the night of mom leaving baby and also other incidents.

My lawyer did nothing. When handcuffs were placed on my wrists I lost all hope. The family court system is corrupt. I am now subject to use our family wizard to communicate with my daughter, while paying twelve dollars a month to do so.

My son has been alienated from me for the last 10 years, ive seen him 3 times, about a combined time of 30 minuts. The judge has made clear cut bias judgmets and when i petition for violation as the petitioner being i am never allowed i get treated like a criminal
