Both class 10 and 12 economics :), in 12th the chapter is about money so it starts with explaining how we couldn't measure good, couldn't store value, need to double coincidence of wants and also couldn't do lending to others etc.

Barter system also had benefits in smaller scale.
Today, everything is valued in paper currency but this valuation is not fair everywhere. Instead it is controlled by the capitalists all over the globe.

Now your income isn't proportional to the kind of effort you put while when agricultural produce was the currency, your economical status was purely dependent on you.

Same applies to goods & services that we purchase.


Another perspective might be that the issue is local/unfair income paired with global rates of goods/services.
Or capitalism is the problem which was fueled by standardization of currency.

According to newer economic theory, we did not have a barter economy but an "ill get the next one" economy. Where the community helped each other ... if you had sea shells ... you would gift it to your friends ... then your friends would get together and help you build a house. Barter would only be used to trade outside your community. Even then helping each other was supreme, or you would have random clans attacking you for resources.
