For many years before AJ joined WWE, whenever he was asked which wrestler he would love to see in WWE, Mean Gene would always mention AJ's name, among several others.
They met back in 2000 when AJ came to WCW during it's dying days and became friends.
Had Mean Gene been in WWE during Invasion in 2001, it is highely possible that he would be able to convince Vince to sign AJ.
We all know thats not how it went, as AJ went on to make name for himself in TNA and Japan, but it was so wonderful that in the end they did get to work together again.
As we all know, this was the final on-screen interview that Mean Gene ever did and he said many times before his untimely death that this was one of his most favorite interviews that he did in his illustrious career.
It is also worth to note that "Let me tell you something, Mean Gene" was not scripted and that AJ went off-script, which made this interview even more amazing then it already was.
